Well according to the Norwich fans on Facebook, he has been Player of the Year every year since he joined & has been the highest goalscorer every year.
They also give him credit for helping them get back from League 1 to the Premier League.
One of my Norwich supporting friends has put this on his personal FB status:
“After 4yrs, 78 goals, 3 player of the season awards, 2 promotions, hat trick v Blue scum, goals v man utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool to name but a few, upset opponents fans. I must thank Grant Holt for so many happy times. Thanks for the memories. WFLGH”, and in 19 hours has 50 “likes”.
Since he left Rochdale, where he played with Rickie Lambert, Holt has steadily climbed the leagues. We didn’t see much of him at Wigan last season. He only came on as a late substitute, and Kone scored the winner as soon as he did.
He should be a success in the Championship, but I think Norwich have seen him at his best. He is, after all, 32 – the same age as Crainey. There are some more cautious reports too; “Unfortunately, he didn’t have a great season last year, noticeably gaining a lot of weight and only scoring 8 times for Norwich City.”
The Europa League was apparently a great attraction for him. I hope he isn’t disappointed.
Good signing in my book as the rest have been. Think we need at least 1 more striker though but will be interesting to see how he uses Maloney and McManaman having signed 2 front men.
