Surely these rumours can not become reality. We know Caldwell doesn’t like to play strikers but this would be a travesty. As soon as Grant is fit he should be straight in the side alongside Grigg and Davies. Come on Latics this idiotic idea can not happen.
3 October 2015 at 4:27 pm #145045Is this a wind-up or are you just terminally stupid but what makes you think that a 34 year-old crock who was injury prone and well past his best when he joined us and is now attempting to recover from a career threatening injury can do any kind of job for Wigan Athletic?
3 October 2015 at 5:16 pm #145046And you call me stupid with that empty beaded statement.
I think it is you doing the winding up.
He could do as good a job as any in a footballing line up but maybe you are right he may not at Latics if the manager plays those negative boring tactics he chooses.3 October 2015 at 5:31 pm #145047In the right set up in this league a fit Grant Holt would bag a load of goals.

The fact is neither of us know but the people who work with him every day do and they obviously don’t think he’s up to the job.

3 October 2015 at 6:18 pm #145050My opinion counts for nowt and you got that spot on Sammy, its an opinion only. Nothing more than a opinion. What I have observed over the last six or seven seasons has been quite alien to what I was always used to following at Latics. Not since the Bruce era have we played football how I and many others like football to be played and that is what shapes opinions.I know having opinions counts for nothing but yip I suppose we should put our trust in the experts Bobby (started all this sideways football, lone striker negative tripe then turns his back), Coyle (continues with lone striker), Rosler (swaps and changes keeps lone striker) Malky ( picks up the pieces after the sell off, but sticks with lone striker) Caldwell ( prefers lone striker but at least shows he isn’t as stubborn as his mentor Bob by playing two strikers sometimes). Only opinions and they count for nowt of course. Surely though if only not to be stuck in the position we have been lately with only one available striker it is worth not letting Grant go but totally respect your opinion that the coaches and managers know best. They have certainly took us a long way the last three seasons.

I would imagine the people that work with him every day realise he’s been injured for quite some time and realise he isn’t ready for much yet. Bit of a daft statement really.

I would imagine the people that work with him every day realise that no amount of rehabilitation will make him ready. Unfortunately time is not on his side. He was shite when he joined us and there is no way he will ever be good enough to play for us again.

4 October 2015 at 1:46 am #145064Why Carlisle. I thought he could go on a free to Burnley, or at least that what he tells Sean Dyche around 30 secs from the end of this…

Sammy knows you know. He believes in Coyle Rosler and McKay our super coaches. They certainly got it all right. Nice one Sammy. But if that’s your opinion you are entitled to it and who would anyone else be to criticise the opinion of a fellow fan.4 October 2015 at 2:15 pm #145081In the right set up in this league a fit Grant Holt would bag a load of goals.

What is demonstrable is that they are superior to you.
