Sorry La Fondre was mentioned as well apparently he’s not fit enough either, yet Davies and Powell can get a game that look anything but fit or interested, why doesn’t Joyce grow a pair and come out with the real reason for not playing Grigg?
Joyce is seriously getting on my tits already with all this bollocks!
Fuck the EFL
3 December 2016 at 2:51 am #152814Perhaps he might be telling the truth?
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!3 December 2016 at 2:55 am #152815Players not fit at this stage of the season….I blame Coyle
3 December 2016 at 3:27 am #152819Grigg must start. He hasn’t looked any worse than Jacobs or Power and they get their places. Enoch isn’t fit at at all. Total crock. Surely at home it’s got to be Wildschutt in his proper position and Will up top. Enoch cleaning boots.
3 December 2016 at 2:35 pm #152820So this should explain a bit more how Joyce is picking his starting 11, simple really …
http://www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/latics/strike-duo-have-a-part-to-play-joyce-1-8272098
Warren Joyce says Will Grigg and Adam Le Fondre have ‘some work’ ahead of them to get back into the Wigan Athletic starting line-ups
The duo have been frustrated onlookers in recent weeks since Joyce took over, with Yanic Wildschut assuming central striking duties in each of the last two matches.Nick Powell supported Wildschut at Barnsley before picking up a hamstring injury, while Michael Jacobs stepped into the breach at Huddersfield on Monday night.
Indeed, Craig Davies came off the bench to replace Wildschut in both matches, with Grigg not even among the subs at the John Smith’s Stadium. Joyce says he’s been rewarding those who have impressed him most in training so far, although he assured both Grigg and Le Fondre they remain in his plans.“Those two are goal poachers, both goalscorers with tremendous records and good success during their careers,” recognised the Latics boss.“And they’ll certainly be used at this football club.
“I’ve got my own opinions on how near they are to being the best they can be physically as well, fitness-wise. “They’ve got some work to get themselves going, in my opinion. But they know they’re certainly of use, they’ve both got massive attributes.”
The absence of Grigg in particular has surprised many Latics fans, who saw him bang in 29 goals on the way to the League One Golden Boot last season. However, Joyce points to a number of factors that explain why he was omitted from the matchday squad on Monday night.“Will hadn’t trained for two or three days last week, and before that he was obviously away with Northern Ireland,” the Latics chief said. “He hasn’t really done a great deal – it’s a simple as that really.
“If I’m saying it’s important how players train and work every day, how they do the extra things…Craig Morgan, before he played against Barnsley, had been doing everything right, Kaiyne Woolery’s been doing everything right on the training ground, working really hard.“If you want to reward people for training hard, then you’ve got to do that.“You’ve got to do things from what you’ve seen in training, and give people a a chance.
“It’s the only way you’ll get everyone flat out. And if there’s a consistency in my views on that, you’ve got to be working your socks off in training, striving to improve, and then you’ll be rewarded for it and get your chance.”Joyce pointed to Nathan Byrne as a player in a similar boat, who had responded positively to the new regime.
3 December 2016 at 3:53 pm #152822Well I can see what he means but he played an half fit Enoch at Barsley and brought on an half fit Enoch at Huddersfield.
In the world of football and transparency not a bad reason Yootha but there’s more and this is a part smokescreen which will blow away next month.
Also if LeFondre isn’t up to it. Send him back now!!3 December 2016 at 4:45 pm #152823Well I can see what he means but he played an half fit Enoch at Barsley and brought on an half fit Enoch at Huddersfield.

Also if LeFondre isn’t up to it. Send him back now!!How do you know that Cosy was only half fit, have you been present at all the training sessions?
Did you go to Farm shed sley?
Did you not see the contribution that Lord Baden made to running down the clock and Heading out crosses at Cows underbellies Field? He hasn’t said Alien Life Form isn’t up to it, he said he needs to get fitter. Mitchell intends to do that, so why send him back?
You really do show some naivety when it comes down to understanding the football strategy of a football manager. :P
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!3 December 2016 at 5:03 pm #152824Ha Ha love it Fat Fan. Yip I sure do show naivety of the football strategy of a football manager and that’s because like the majority of people who post on fans forums I am a fan and not a football management strategist. Not a super fan like you obviously but just an ordinary fan. Top of the class there Mr Fat Fan. You could actually have a star for that.
3 December 2016 at 5:50 pm #152826Well im not complaining ill leave it to the expert to decide whats best
3 December 2016 at 11:20 pm #152834By the time I fly to Tenerife on Jan 31st I expect Will to have left the club. Summat doesn’t sit right here he was deemed ok for NI but has not been fit for us. Don’t get it at all.
5 December 2016 at 12:55 am #152844My opinion for what its worth…….
When Grigg came on on Saturday, Wildschut came into the game more. I thought Grigg gave the midfield an “out” that wasn’t there before. His recycling of possession often with just a single touch allowed Wigan to really build pressure on Derby. The team is definitely better and more balanced with him in it. I really hope he isn’t on his way in January
5 December 2016 at 1:34 am #152847Grigg will be an integral part of our push up the league. Well he has to be surely.

Grigg showed some quality touches when he came Jon on & i too hope we keep him as he’s quality IMO. Thought first half we were poor and Yanic got next to no service at all. If they both start regularly then we could have a good partnership that see’s Grigg score plenty.
