Seems to be everyone’s whipping boy.Christ ,I wouldn’t mind if he had been squandering chance after chance but no one would score goals in this team.Midfield is pants…create nowt..no balls(of any quality) played into him from wide.Remember how many of his goals came from 6yds..upto Sat he was coming back to half way line to collect.Power Perkins,Mcdonald ineffective as a forward unit but it’s Grigg who getting it in the neck.Lay off and point the finger at a manager who has flooded our squad with similar type midfielders and unfit wingers. His bollocks substitution was icing on cake for me.Must be the only team ever where the new manager syndrome bombed!!….Win Tuesday or forget championship for next season. Notice how Blackburn pushed United yeasterday unlike us…..if Rovers can replicate anywhere near that performance then we have a battle on.!!!

I am not sure exactly whether Grigg is quite being used as a whipping boy. Don’t worry about Blackburns performance vs Man Utd, could have played well or played with effort for a number of reasons. It’s our game that one don’t worry :)

He’s not a whipping boy he’s just not scoring similar to a defender not defending.
Good forwards make their own luck. There’s also the matter of working off the ball, then balls in the air, can’t jump and twice on Saturday a good ball was whipped in to the box from wide while Grigg was just entering the box.
Grigg requires quality service something teams like us don’t have we sell as soon as we get them.
He doesn’t suit us in the Championship and personally I don’t think he can hack the Championship were there’s a slightly better quality of defender, he’s far to easy to mark.
Griggs goal scoring record this season speaks for itself. It’s time to give Laurent and Mandron some playtime. As we are were going down so we might as well. And as for Obertan ?, he must pissin his side’s on the bench while flicking through a Thomas Cook brochure

Have to differ on this…..why buy so many players for another day when we need players who can try rescue us now ?.Hope he gives Mandron a go but somehow doubt it.How many balls did we get past 1st defender Saturday .Corners were crap ,set pieces too.Granted Grigg struggled but ever present Power does nothing yet seems to be 1st name down every game.Been a long time since I’ve seen us with a midfield so static and safety 1st minded yet Grigg expected to score whilst being fed nothing. Balls in the air have never been his game and as far as good forwards create their own luck then he’ll have come so deep he might as well stand next to Gilks. You know your forwards strong points and play to them…..the midfield in general has been poor so it’s obvious strikers will suffer.

Grigg will stand a far better chance in a better side with width whipping balls in.
Let’s no forget, he was on loan at MK Dons when he was scoring goals Deli Ali behind him then with us in Div1.
It scares me that Joyce seems to think that if your an attacking midfielder or winger he”ll see you as a forward,
Yanic, Powell, Obertan all in he’s eyes forwards which leads me to think he doesn’t like playing with wide players, he prefers to re-label them and, stick them elsewhere.

Lets not forget too that Brentford sent him out on loan to 3rd division MK Dons, and that MK Dons didn’t sign him once they got promoted at the end of that season. Despite scoring goals for fun, Brentford were still happy to offload him to us.

Despite having a cracking season for us, he was still 3rd choice striker for NI, behind a Norwich reserve player and a kid who played about 5 games for QPR.

Perhaps Grigg is just one of those players who cannot step up to the next level. There’s plenty of them around (Dwight Gayle, Jordan Rhodes & Patrick Bamford being prime examples).

No pace, bad first touch and can’t jump! I always thought we looked more dangerous when Le Fondre replaced him!
