LOOKING FOR LOPEZ
Hola Guillem. As a Wigan fan I have been following the fascinating story regarding the disappearance of Deportivo’s Adrian ‘Piscu’ Lopez via the Spanish press. If he resolves his contract dispute and signs for Wigan on a free transfer what can we expect? Is he any good? Kind regards, Kevin BurchallGUILLEM SAYS: This is a fascinating story and we will discuss it soon on Revista. His contract ran out and he was going to Wigan, but Deportivo felt that according to Spanish football law they had the right to ask for compensation – and they asked for £1.5million – but according to FIFA they don’t have any rights. The last I heard is that he’s in Wigan and Roberto Martinez has been very clever because the player left Deportivo at the end of his contract and went to Wigan for a trial, but it wasn’t really a trial. He’s a centre-back who’s solid and can play in central midfield and has also been used as a right-back. He’s a clean defender if you like; he’s good at passing the ball, he’s getting stronger and potentially he’s a good player at the age of 23. I’m pretty sure he’ll end up at Wigan. He won’t sort out their problems straight away, but he’s definitely one for the mid-term future.

24 September 2010 at 5:15 pm #47301If what Guillem says is true, it sounds like Piscu is being lined up as Alacaraz’s new central defensive partner.
Then……Gohouri could move to right back, Stam could move to left back……..
The permutations are endless :o
