Do you reckon there would be more satisfied people if Guiness (probably the least chance of getting this due to pouring time), Magners (or any other Cider) were on offer on the concourse???
The lager is not the best and I don’t drink bitter and so my half time would be a lot better….
Also how about McDonalds instead of/as well as expensive hot dogs and pies?
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
29 April 2010 at 3:39 am #31148A Whiskey or Vodka choice would be good, better machines to pump the ale or leaving the bar open longer would help the queues, it can be done, it was at Bolton (not sure if it’s legal or not though), leave the tv screens on for the full 90, plastic bottles and cans might be an option, can’t taste any worse than what’s on offer.
Maccy d’s – No !29 April 2010 at 4:43 am #31154I’d love some decent bitter or lucozade on tap.
Stopped drinking lager when I turned 18. If you’re going to be a man you might aswell do it properly.29 April 2010 at 11:29 am #31160They should put some barriers in place to manage the queues better.
Also, the pumps should be placed away from the serving counter so that someone can be pouring the pints (maybe have a few ready before the rush arrives) and someone else passing them to me and taking my money.29 April 2010 at 12:05 pm #31162More choice would be great, but I have to agree with the comments on barriers to control the queues and having a load of pints ready for half time. The thing that stops me using the catering at the stadium is the size of the queues, the random queuing system and the queue jumping
Balti pies and Guiness for me please.
Maccy Ds works for the kids.
29 April 2010 at 12:26 pm #31163Definitely Guinness. Have to pour it right though ;) Some chance. Not really a Magners man but being the vogue drink, they’d shift loads of it.
Not bothered about McDonalds (TM) but I’d be surprised if they’d open or invest in a place that is effectively open an average of two to three hours a week.
29 April 2010 at 1:46 pm #31166At Sheff Utd the other season we took the full allocation with us ( For obvious reasons ! ) and we were served in no time at all at half time. Why ??? Plastic bottles that held a pint !! You can dish em out quicker than the time it takes to unload a rice wagon in some third world country !
29 April 2010 at 2:12 pm #31174At Dirty Leeds a few years ago they had Strongbow on tap…proper cider not glorified alcopops. I think they sponsored them at the time. Some decent Irish whisky minatures would be nice, although bringing a hip flask in is cheaper ;) Guinness just ain’t practical at football especially when some nob would ask for a Shamrock in it  though Guinness tents at races work well
There’s enough clowns go watching us already without having a McDonalds in the ground :D
29 April 2010 at 4:16 pm #31198At Sheff Utd the other season we took the full allocation with us ( For obvious reasons ! ) and we were served in no time at all at half time. Why ??? Plastic bottles that held a pint !! You can dish em out quicker than the time it takes to unload a rice wagon in some third world country !Yeah it was quick to get served there. The bottles ended up being shaken and sprayed about everywhere rather than being drunk though :D
And I wouldn’t mind a good bitter being put on tap or even some fine ale… As I also don’t drink Lager at all and am not a huge fan of the Bitter there. (Yes I am 20 :) )
29 April 2010 at 4:20 pm #31200…someone can be pouring the pints (maybe have a few ready before the rush arrives)They do that now, that’s partly why it tastes shyte. I think they start pulling the half-time beers at 3:01.
29 April 2010 at 6:05 pm #31225Last time I went to Eastlands they had lads walking about with those back packs on, they just pour you a pint as they’re walking around, seems like a good idea.
29 April 2010 at 8:35 pm #31235the mcdonalds bit is just plain silly you would never get a car through the concourse with all them people there unless they did the drive through on that spare bit round the edge of the pitch in front of the front row in the stands but this could be a hazard for stewards and linesmen and ballboys
29 April 2010 at 10:42 pm #31241i have never had a worse pint than at city this year though :(
30 April 2010 at 1:43 am #31258i have never had a worse pint than at city this year though :(Worse than the DW Stadium?
Christ, was it cat-spunk?
30 April 2010 at 2:02 am #31266McDonalds would just never happen. I think only Liverpool have one inside a concourse and surely if that was such a success it would have spread to other grounds.
Although im sure a Galloways in the concourse would earn as much per game as the whole of our team combined.
There should just be a better choice really, would love a Balti pie option however id mainly just like to be able to buy a pie at half time that isn’t rock hard due to it having been at the back of those ovens for 2 hours. I can only think of 4 food options available in total.
The choice just needs a bit of a refresh really, i don’t think its changed since we moved in there.
