Grigg Jacobs Massey all out with hamstring problems. Is this just fate or could it be to fitness, how they train etc.
It’s a problem but the biggest problem is who the hell can replace them?
Windass isn’t right on the right so he has to go up top. Garner has looked lost when he’s played the lone striker roll. So it’s up to McMannaman to prove his worth somewhere. Could try
Windass
McMannaman Powell Byrne
Morsy Evans
Robinson Kipre Dunkley James
Walton
Going to have to have the Wigan spirit tomorrow though.22 October 2018 at 1:07 pm #172567Could be, I remember a few years back fat Sam saying he geared training to suit certain players that were prone to a certain type of injury.
I’m sure we’ve sports science guys at the club who know all this and players who suffer from muscle injuries are closely monitored. This might sound like a load of testicles but warming up is a massive part especially coming off the bench late on. Didn’t Grigg do his hamstring coming on in an international with 5 to go ?.
This might not go down well because our thugby tenants use it but the best warm up is an exercise bike on the touch line or just in the tunnel, this would benefit no end.
23 October 2018 at 2:58 pm #172570If, for the first time in years, Cook’s fitness regime is successfully managing Nick Powell’s issues I wouldn’t have concerns about his training.
Grigg’s had issues with his hammies for years. Jacobs was out for a stretch during Caldwell’s promotion season with the same problem & Massey has described his as a freak injury23 October 2018 at 3:50 pm #172571If, for the first time in years, Cook’s fitness regime is successfully managing Nick Powell’s issues I wouldn’t have concerns about his training.

27 October 2018 at 9:34 pm #172727Apparently Gary Roberts went off with the same problem today. That’s after less than 1 and half games this season. What is going on?
Terribly fated this season!!!27 October 2018 at 11:34 pm #172731I’m afraid that I have always said about other clubs when they have a string of injuries that it is probably something in the training regime that has caused it, or at least increased the risk.
