Why are people having a pop at Kirkland? The 10 men in front of him were f*cking awful. How many times did Kirkland pass directly to a Spurs player? How many times did he watch Lennon, Defoe, Kranjcar, Palacios etc just run with the ball and put a cross/shot in? He made several saves in the first half that kept us in it and imo none of the goals were actually his fault.
I don’t think this will be our last wolloping this season.
God help us if we get to the last game and need something.

Said it after the Pompey game. We have never really been pasted at this level except by the top four every now and again. This year we have been hammered five times. We have lost the whole hard to beat mentality that has served us so well.
Yes but it has been a choice, do we continue to get bored with tight performances and keep the other team out, or do you try to change and play more attractive and open football. We are taking a risk but one worth taking if you ask me. If it doesnt work most of the complainers will have their way and back int he championship.

No wonder this is still a rugby town – even the football fans want the ball lumped in the air aimlessley and/or into touch.

Last seasion was dire and I said very early on this season that I would rather go down playing the way Martinex wants to play than watching more of that crap from last year.
In my opinion the players, not the manager, are the problem. There seems to be too many who don’t seem to want to play for him and whilst that is his problem to sort out, he is not the root cause of it.
That said, he surely has to give others a chance after Sunday.
