According to our pragmatic chairman RM was not even offered the LFC job ! And Villa are not a big enough club for him !!
31 May 2012 at 4:19 pm #88474it worked though
31 May 2012 at 6:14 pm #88478You often wonder if we lost our manager could DW run the club single handed?
PR man (probably his best job-seems to have the media in his pocket),,director of football, press officer,he seems to do all the jobs with ease.31 May 2012 at 6:38 pm #88480yes he is good at all those
but i wouldn’t trust him in the wages department ;)31 May 2012 at 6:47 pm #88481That’s one thing I like about DW he says what he thinks and doesn’t hold any secrets.
All through this Liverpool / villa thing, DW kept updating the media of the latest situation, although many fans thought he was almost trying to throw bobby out on his ears in order to get compensation. LOB!
The man is a marketing genius and whilst sometimes he has us cringing with outbursts on controversial national football matters, he speaks from his heart. You hear fans of many other football clubs wishing they had a chairman has honest and open as DW.
I still think and have always thought, that we have a gem of a chairman and a gem of a manager. goodpost
We will all actually realise how good Big Dave was when he decides to hang up his chequebook. :(From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!31 May 2012 at 6:52 pm #88483I think fans of orrell rugby club would disagree with you on this one :)

Correct, but they had all been sold on the lure of huge investment being pumped into the club.
How could anyone resist the promise of a thousand quid in your back pocket and your club back up in the Premiership?

Who promised the world then sold off the ground for houses and left them potless. DW is a business man and make no mistake Wigan Athletic has never been a labour of love it was business. In fact if it hadn’t been for the late Duncan Sharpe who was mad Latics he would never have got involved at all.
