That’s a bit unfair on CH. He started like a house on fire and the first 2 games the football was excellent – but it was all through Heskey and when he broke his foot in the Fulham (I think). In fact he probably has the record as the manager of latics on the one and only time we were top of the league (for one night only).

Seemed CH had no plan B when Heskey was injured.

Was he so forgetable that no one mentions our swedish wonder boy, Andreas Johansson? Apart from his abilty to control the ball with his chest, I marvelled at every occasion I saw him. How did anyone think he was up to it?
I have to concede that he did actaully score some goals, which differentiates him from some of the aforementioned gentlemen. But utterly crap!

Hmmmm, not sure about this. Have a look at our first Premiership season highlights DVD. He actually scored a few goals, 2 at Spurs stand out as very good strikes in particular. I must admit, until I watched it again last week, I’d forgot all about him. But trust me, have a look if you have the DVD. He wasn’t that bad.

A highlight does not tell the real story. Celab Folan scored what in effect was a priceless goal against Man City (and for that alone he was worth the transfer fee) which gave us 3 points in a season we needed them.

But one swallow does not maketh a summer.

As I said, he did score some goals but a gifted football player he was not!

            Out of that list…..

Agahowa-Last heard of, was playing for Kayserispor in Turkey. What did we waste on him? 5 million was it?

Bouaouzan ( never made an appearance? )-Did he not play a L/cup game?

De Ridder-Spent more time flicking his locks, than on the ball.

Connolly-A bit harsh on him. Scored a cracker on his debut.

Folan-I think we could’ve developed him further. Better than Sammon?

Krapo-Useless signing. What was the point?

King-Made up when we signed him. Had too much going on OFF the pitch.

Scotland-2 paces short of being a Premiership player. Caught on ball too much before he could shoot.

Webster-A stupid signing. One of convenience, as Rangers wouldn’t sell direct to Hearts, or vice versa. Allegedly. We were merely the pawn.

Been alot of dross over the years tbh along with the absolute gems we have had the pleasure of watching..

Here is a cost comparison for those players.

No prizes for guessing who signed the most costly ones!

            *possible loan fees received
            (figures not accurate)[/quote]

Agahowa DEFINITELY cost us a fee when we signed him. It was maybe 3.5 million with add-on’s, or maybe it was the full 5 million. But I know we made a big loss on him.

We’ve wasted so much money. And also 50 grand a week on Heskey? Bloody hell…..surely we coul’ve spent the money better?
