Going to be very difficult not to laugh my tits off if we get the points back. The vitriol from Barnsley fans has been staggering. As has their complete lack of understanding of the situation TBH
24 July 2020 at 11:19 am #188176I seriously do not understand the problem that everyone connected to Barnsley has with this situation. They have been 💩💩💩 all season & fully deserve their relegation, as did we back at Christmas when we were also 💩💩💩 & if the season were to have finished at Christmas. They do not have a reason to moan.
24 July 2020 at 11:30 am #188178Is there an option for a reduced points penalty at the appeal hearing?
10 points would penalise us but not relegate us as Macclesfield received, with a proportion of the blame taken by the club and the rest by the EFL.24 July 2020 at 11:53 am #188180The options I believe are 12 points, reduced points or no points.
Personally I don’t think we will win as the shit storm that will follow will be huge.
24 July 2020 at 12:18 pm #188181I honestly think this QC will win our case, one way or the other.

I can’t help but think that maybe there is a local benefactor could well contribute.
Someone who doesn’t want now to be actively engaged in running the club long term, but who initially pledged he would help in whatever way he could.
If only there were someone like this already pulling strings behind the scenes :)24 July 2020 at 1:38 pm #188185They must be confident to risk 500k

If so the said local benefactor known very much for his prudent business sense wouldn’t take a 500k shot in the dark

He represented Leeds fighting against their 15 point deduction – and lost
Different cases of course, but I’m really not confident.
24 July 2020 at 1:56 pm #188187So let’s say we win and the 12 points deduction is cancelled. Do you think it’s over?.
Well what will happen is,
Barnsley will appeal that is for certain. This has been estimated to take up to 12 weeks in total.
Barnsleys appeal timescale and shorter summer break will mean fixtures will not be released.
This means Barnsley are challenging the independent panels decision to scrap our 12 point deduction.
Were does that leave us ?, and what happens if they win and they are told they should not be relegated ?. Who fills that 3rd from bottom slot ?.
Forget Sheff Weds and Derby, they are making sure if they are hit with a points deduction they’ll get them deducted next season. And Charlton are due for an announcement soon. It seems they’ve been naughty boys as well.
Wow ! This is one fcukin big legal mess that will take months and months if not years to sort out.The easiest way for the EFL, start next season on time and don’t face any legal action from barnsley is
Fcuk us off and send us down which is precisely what will happen
24 July 2020 at 2:07 pm #188188Something someone pointed out on twitter
“Barnsley were in the relegation-zone every week from 15 September until the 91st minute in the final game of the season and survived. Charlton were in it for one week all season and got relegated. The Championship is absolutely bonkers.”
That just shows you how mad football can be, just look at Forest as well, gees

They would be confident if our Name was Sheffield Wednesday. They would have a reduced points deduction in our situation.
Us in their situation? Well we would have lost 21 points weeks ago.25 July 2020 at 3:35 pm #188213Something someone pointed out on twitter
