Holloway has worked wonders.
But we don’t need a miracle-worker. We can take a longer view.
We just need someone to pull the squad together.
We need someone who can (broadly) follow the style that Martinez had us playing. Yes we too often weren’t good enough at executing it but watching any successful side today they play in a similar way.
I was never sure what style we were trying to play under Owen Coyle but it sure as Hell wasn’t working.Well looking at what’s on offer I would take Phelan till the end of the season with the view of a contract at the end and get him to persuade Paul Scholes in as coach/ assistant manager.
You can’t say Scholes won’t get the respect from the players. Like you said, they just need pulling together and playing for each other.In fairness to the players, I’ve not heard much moaning about them as a whole.
