As I keep stating….why do I feel that its a poor league?….Win our game in hand and we are 4th above the likes of Burnley, Watford etc.!!!…I still think the best is yet to come. 2 defeats, the one against Reading was particularly disappointing whilst Burnley was a bad day at the office. No one looks heads above everyone else so yes it would trump nearly everything we’ve achieved in recent times ,but this games about dreams and I for one think we can surprise everyone yet again…….its what we do…..Now need to carry on the fantastic away results then knuckle down to 2 home games, and give us something to cheer. What a brilliant start, carrying on where we left off last season.
You are not the only ones who are finding it easier on the road – Sunderland have one win and 3 draws in their 5 home games. Sides are coming and shutting up shop to quieten the home crowd. Its been easier to play against sides who are expected to come at you because they are at home to a newly promoted team.
It isn’t the first time this has happened, just need to hit 49 points as quick as possible and then see where we can get to after that. But as MBB has said, even the two defeats were disappointing and sides I thought we should be testing we have beat so far.
Long way to go, but opening a gap to the bottom 4 already, let it continue to grow.
I think the best is yet to come from this squad who are learning all the time. We might not be world beaters but the team spirit and away fan power is working some magic.
Maybe if we could be a bit more partizan at home we could sneak some better results?
Maybe if the home supporters could get behind the team from the first minute to last, instead of jeering, berating, moaning every misplaced chance, pass etc, or sitting there in silence as if they’re in a morgue, home performances might improve.
