21 June 2014 at 1:49 pm #131947OK. Lets play all our games away then! What the frig is wrong with wanting to watch your team at home ffs?
There is no reason we shouldn’t be playing at home.21 June 2014 at 2:21 pm #131948Because Leigh is a huge journey, isn’t it?
Perhaps we’re trying not to add extra strain on the pitch?

There is no reason we shouldn’t be playing at home. The reason.Klumps. ;)
21 June 2014 at 5:14 pm #131954Donny makes a fair point, with 23 league games to come, and the fat fucks playing all summer, one or two home friendlies would make no difference at all to the pitch.
Lets face it, the chubbs play nothing but friendlies all season until their end of season fiasco starts.
21 June 2014 at 5:50 pm #131955Not forgetting there will be three less European fixtures this season.
A home friendly against a top side should be part of the pre-season. Maybe there’s still time to see if Burnley, QPR or Hull City fancy sending an XI over before their season starts.

Bloody hell mutty, you were nearly in danger of saying something that could be taken fully seriously for once, until you spoiled it with your last sentence.
Never mind, two out of three sensible statements is not bad, there is hope for you yet.

lWould rather watch paint dry than any of those three !
21 June 2014 at 8:57 pm #131959I know, but the top top sides would have all signed up to lucrative overseas tours a long time ago. If you want a fixture, you then get left with those clubs that the far east/USA/middle east countries dont care about.
Even Sunderland have games in Portugal against top European sides, so we cant help you out!

There is no reason we shouldn’t be playing at home.Whether you like it or not, we share our ground with the rugby who, you might have noticed (but maybe not), play in the summer. Minimising the number of games played on in total makes total sense – not entirely surprised you don’t get that, though.
21 June 2014 at 9:47 pm #131961And besides all that, if the club and its manager are happy to have the pre-season preparations away from the stadium – for whatever reason – it matters not a jot what you lot think, really.

Then I suppose there is no longer a need for fans forums meetings or links to the supporters club. The voice of the fans who have supported this club through thick and thin must mean nothing then.
Ah well! I suppose all this not giving a jot might catch on to some of the junior supporters (the clubs future) and maybe, just maybe they may be tempted to the cherry and white side of the town.

As mutty said we don’t have to play the ‘extra’ European games this season, and by the way did you not notice that we played in the Championship last season (more games than the EPL) with no deterioration to the playing surface. Probably not.
