With the requirement to have a number of young, home-grown players in a 25 man squad from next season I was wondering how you are doing in this area. Have you got a few reserve/youth team players out on loan to CCC/D1 sides to give them a bit of experience?

Wont really affect us, or any other Premier League club for that matter. Cant remember the figures but when the plans were announced there was a list produced to show who would have what had the plan come into force this season. Two were a couple of players away to the limit – Chelsea and (i think) Fulham but the rest, inculding us, had miles of leeway.

Stupid rule – expecially when you consider that the likes of N’Zog, Cywka and Kupiz will all be classed as “home grown” for us and for Arsneal the likes of van Persie, Vela, Clichy , Eboue and many others will all be counted as “home grown”.

All this rule will encourage is the pillaging of players at an even younger age from foreign leagues.

Well Smutty…..we could always take a leaf out of the Chubbies book and break the rules in order to cheat the system I suppose??

Your Avitar is cool – is that when the cherry and shite played one of those teams on the M62? Is that you and your boyfriend?

Amazing – you manage to bring rugby into a serious question. Maybe you’d be better researching what reserve/youth team players you are developing and loaning out to CCC clubs before this rule comes in, and give a sensible answer to a sensible question.

Thanks for the comments about my avitar – but it was not taken from a rugby game. Do those TWO spectators amongst a mass of empty seats really look fat enough to be rugby fans?

It is a fact that there are more empty seats at a rugby game than at a football game at the DW Stadium so it would therefore be an obvious conclusion for anyone capable of basic maths to make

Furthermore, you are not a Wigan Athletic fan, you are a Wigan Rugby fan so why on earth would you have a picture of a football game when you have said in the past that you are not a Wigan Athletic fan and you only attend the DW for rugby games

As you are not a Wigan Athletic fan, why would you even be concerned about where our players come from? Why not let those of us who haven’t turned our back on our home town club worry about that.

As an egg chaser/poor wind up merchant, you should be grateful that you are even allowed on here, given that any Wigan Athletic fan who seeks to address the lies and slander posted on RLFans gets immediately banned by the Nazi moderators on there who don’t like being told facts about the popularity of relevant sports in the town

You seem to be bragging the other day about being in the RAF. Well heaven help us if people like you are defending our country, as time and time again on here you have shown yourself to be a petty, small minded snidey excuse of a man who needs to grow up.

Thankyou for your input regarding empty seats at the DW, but it is totally irrelevent to the question I asked.

FYI, I have followed Sunderland FC since the mid-80’s. We have the Academy of Light for around 7 years that is now beginning to produce young players of a sufficient standard to hold their own. Grant Leadbitter were the first to make it to the first team, and although he didnt set the world on fire, he was sold on at the start of this season. Currently we have Martyn Waghorn on loan at Leicester and Jack Colback at Ipswich. Last season, numerous youngsters were loaned out to the likes of Carlisle, Southend, Leicester. Jordan Henderson has just broken into the first team under Bruce.

So, I’ll ask again – how is your youth policy standing up with the need to produce home-grown talent? Have you got any stars of the future playing in the CCC/L1 this season?

(And if you really feel like answering, please keep it on-topic, as the moderators dont like me talking about rugby)

Kirkland, Pollit, Bramle, Boyce, Kupisz(spelling?), Cyzvka(spelling?), Zog came through ranks at barcodes i think and is ok, Mcarthy, then the likes of Lee Nichols, Mcmenaman and all the other youth lads that, fair enough wont get a look in but will atleast make the numbers right. I have probably missed a few out aswell this is just off the top of my head and i coud be wrong regarding Zog.
Thank you for your concern but you realy should be more worried about the fatties having their rent on time, and the fact the maccams are looking at doing their January sales purchasing at tesco again.
