Working for Junior Latics perhaps

What job would that be exactly?

So that’s why we are letting Brenda go!
27 May 2010 at 4:40 pm #34906“do a job” as in “i have just done a job in my pants” maybe?
27 May 2010 at 6:44 pm #34919I feel really sorry for him. He’s like the retarded kid that you let on the school team to make him feel good about himself, but now it’s time to say “look, mate, there just isn’t room for a spastic in this team, especially in goal”. Maybe give him Arsene’s number and send him on his way.
27 May 2010 at 11:04 pm #34944You lot are so critical. He can be a good keeper. Only played a few games and obviously WANTS to do a job for us at least, more than you can say for some of the players we have here! He wants to play for us and could do well after adapting to the prem.
Just hope the Idiots that like to boo like little kids don’t get on his back if he comes back to the club and gets a game… Would be childish and would NOT help him improve.
Then again us latics fans have to moan at something or have at least one scapegoat. (Some fans, not all)

Why? Could get paid by a different club, but he WANTS to be here.

He’s a good shot stopper. And wasn’t he first choice for Serbia during their qualification? I don’t know whether that was because their first choice was injured or not, but he can clearly do a job. His main problems are not knowing when (or if) to come off his line, and if he does decide to it’s not with much conviction. He made some mistakes, sure. But if you compare his mistakes-to-goals ratio compared to Kirkland’s or Pollitt’s I’m sure they’d be quite similar.
He doesn’t fill me with confidence when I see him in the starting line up at the moment though, but with an organised line in front of him I think he’d be decent for us. Will also be cheaper to bring in somebody who wants to come to us rather than chasing another team’s ‘keeper.
28 May 2010 at 1:59 am #34963The only thing I would say about using Gomez as an example, is that Spurs more than us, can afford to make the odd poor signing, whereas we perhaps need to be more certain of how we spend our money.
I agree though, he does look a good shot stopper, but I dont think I would be signing him yet with a view to first team football…..maybe the answer would be to send him on loan for half a season to Championship club and see how he performs.
