He seems an excellent shot stopper from what I’ve seen of him but to say he is a “good keeper” is stretching the realms of possibility somewhat.
His decision making in terms of when to come for crosses, when to stay on his line, when to catch it, when to punch it, when to come out & close the angle on someone about to shoot & how to attempt to challenge a striker for a 50/50 ball are the worst I have seen in all my time of watching football (My dad used to bang on about how bad Paddy Roache was for united but that’s a bit before my time). & its not in isolated games – its been in every single game that he’s played.
I thought Nigel Adkins was bad in that respect but this fella stands head & shoulders above him
Were on about Heurelho Gomes top notch goalie :roll:Have you been watching MOTD this season? Gomes has really come through for Spurs, been pulling off some world-class saves and rarely makes the mistakes he was becoming infamous for. There’s a reason he’s now considered Brazil’s 3rd choice — that doesn’t sound particularly appealing but when you consider his superiors are Julio César (of treble-winning Inter) and Doni (of Serie A runners-up Roma) that’s no mean feat!
