Cooks selection that’s how. Yes we’re promoted bla bla bla and players are tired bla bla bla, so changes,no tweaks the selection which i understamd but since we’ve been promoted we’ve scrapped results and players have been poor Byrne first half had a stinker and thought he was in Revolution again, Morsy poor yet again and Powers corners shocking but why oh why play Roberts when Powell is fit we could have lifted the trophy today in front of possibly new fans attending todays game but am I being over critical after all we are promoted but then again Cook did say he wants to win the title.
28 April 2018 at 10:02 pm #168619Byrne poor 1st half ?? Really ?..Different takes on same game .
28 April 2018 at 10:05 pm #168621Where was Cole? Cook was praising him this week and today he wasn’t even on the bench. Is he injured?
Nathan Burn M.O.M. for me today ;)28 April 2018 at 10:11 pm #168623We’ve got promoted and only need a draw next week for the title and you’re still moaning?
Give it a rest.
And I thought Byrne was excellent today.28 April 2018 at 10:12 pm #168624Some of Nathan’s last balls (crosses) were awfull but the teams performance improved second half when the subs were made.
Overall our performance today was more or less like it has been on many occasions this season in home fixtures and that’s not that brilliant. Again against a side of spoilers and time wasters.
Next season will be interesting at an higher level when teams come to play a more open game. We may see then a more impressive Latics at home rather than away.
Every confidence in us not just getting the point but winning next week and the traveling fans who have seen the best of Latics this season get the reward of seeing us win the league on an away ground.
COYL28 April 2018 at 10:29 pm #168628Well lets get the cat out the bag then…..I heard weeks ago that Cook did not sign Cole. His Superiors allegedly signed him ,hence him being virtually invisible.
28 April 2018 at 11:06 pm #168629Byrne first half had a stinkerI thought Byrne had a reasonable game today. If you had said Burn had a stinker I would have agreed with you. A lot of sloppy passes today and his failure to dominate a long ball just outside our box led to their goal. Morsey didn’t cover himself in glory with the quality of a lot of his passes today either.
I thought the ref did more to spoil the party than anybody else.
The 2nd half was a much better performance and their keeper made 2 brilliant saves to deny us certain goals.28 April 2018 at 11:20 pm #168630We have to do it next week….my concern is how dire the refs and lineman are in this division.
29 April 2018 at 12:06 am #168637I’d be happy with a draw next saturday ☺
29 April 2018 at 12:09 am #168638Funniest thing today was us walking around the ground at 1.15,behind the south stand and a car had driven in the area behind the south stand and was parked up. “who’s that silly sod, driving on here among the supporters?” my dad said, as the car slowly came past us.
It was only Dave Whelan. We said “oh, think he has the right, then”

…….. Their ‘keeper.29 April 2018 at 6:53 am #168646The party is next Saturday hopefully! I hope you got your ticket!
29 April 2018 at 11:06 am #168647People saying Morsy had a bad game…. I thought he was immense, personally. Tried his best to drive at them.
I thought Dunkley looked a bit nervy, seemed to kick or head the ball into touch a lot and get frustrated a lot. I also think Jacobs is much better on the left. Hope Massey starts next week, we look much better with him in the side.
The goal we conceded yesterday was very very poor. Too easy. Next week, back to our strongest side with Powell and Massey starting. The lads are going to get amazing support from us fans.
29 April 2018 at 12:41 pm #168653Yes, agree! Strongest team definitely next week.
29 April 2018 at 1:04 pm #168656Yes, agree! Strongest team definitely next week.Should have started Powell yesterday, gone a couple of goals up and then took him off. Should always start with your strongest side in a must win game.
I’m thinking our manager will have a very busy summer ahead of him, recruiting for the Championship. From past experience and on yesterdays performance, it’s clear that some players are going to find the Championship a challenge. The Championship is so much better quality. If we don’t strengthen substantially, we will do a Bolton. -
