The first decent refereeing performance seen in a long time. Handled Rodellega’s outburst really well when most refs would have gone straight for a red card.
he bottled it two or three times – firstly, scholes should’ve been booked for his hand off on gomez, but he didn’t give the free kick because it was a booking which meant a second yellow. .. Rodellega pulled out of the challenge on foster and vidic refereed that for him. He knew vidic was gonna ‘do’ rodellega, failed to see it, or if he did see it, he chose to ignore it. He didn’t send rodellega off as he knew he’d have to either send vidic or hold his hands up to another error.
however, he is, in my opinion, the best ref we have
