If you are looking to stay over the night wait until a day before and go on trivago web site – you can pick up some good last minute deals on hotels and there is no risk you won’t get a room.
just be careful with the posh hotels because buying a drink sometimes needs a second mortgage.
Cracking avatar. I went mental when that went in. Well worth the £48 just to see the Swedish Chelsea fans at the side of us sit down with faces like thunder.

Was in a bar in Spain when that went in. Full of Man U and Chelsea fans. My lad had his Wigan away shirt on with Heskey on the back. Utd fans wanted to put him on their shoulders and carry him round the bar.
Tomorrow I’m getting a bus to Wigan and getting picked up on a rickshaw outside Last orders. That is taking me to Little Bispham were I will catch a tram to the north pier in Blackpool.
I’ll walk to the end of the pier and get inside a wooden barrel and will be rolled into the Irish Sea. If I’ve timed it right, the tide will be flowing North Westerly and thus will run ashore in Dublin on Wednesday. A quick 3 miles walk to the Dublin hot air balloon club, where I will have a bit of something to eat and then up up and away into the night sky meandering the Irish coast line before briskly soaring out across the Atlantic.
Again the timing and altitude after be bob on as this is the trickiest part of the journey. At exactly 6am on Friday morning I will attach my balloon to the wing of a low flying 747 heading to Kennedy Airport USA. At a speed approaching 500mph the journey will considerably speed up and I will detach my balloon 3 miles from Kennedy Airport and aim for Christor Beach. After landing in between a circle of large sand dunes I will abandon the now tatty air balloon and scour the beach in search of a famous giant turtle. I have given myself 2 hours for this, but hopefully it will take less than that. On finding the Giant turtle I will attach my specially made saddle which I will affix myself securely to and prompt the quizzically faced turtle, to head seaward towards the direction of Cuba.
With a bit of luck the turtle will have the strength to hold my heavy frame and keep its head above water for the long sea journey ahead.
I’m expecting to see the welcome sight of the Cuban coastline by the Wednesday before the match day.
Once on Cuban Terra ferma I will take a taxi to the British Embassy where my mate who works there will have the necessary deportation papers and flight tickets waiting for me all stamped and authorised.
I will then have an overnight stay at the Korky Korky hotel and prepare myself for the final few stages of the journey.
I’ll be up at 5am to unicycle myself to the airport and will be airborne and heading for London Gatwick at 8:45am.
Once landing at Gatwick I have arranged for a stretched limo to pick me up and take me to Plymouth Hoe. There I have booked a spa, mud pack and Italian massage at the Gigi spa and baths.
its now Friday before the game and I will be feeling refreshed and ready to go. I hope to be away about 6:30pm and will cover the next part of the journey using a pogo stick.
Should be within touching distance of London at 1pmm Saturday and with hands and feet full of blisters, will head towards Barnum’s circus big top located just on the South Side of London.
This is when it gets really tricky. If all the maths and calculations are bang on I will be lowered into the human cannon ball contraption and at 4:45 the fuse will be lit and boooooshaaaaak! Flying through the air at 215 miles an hour I will land on the centre circle at Wembley were my mates will have located the paddling pool they hopefully have managed to sneak through the turnstiles.I’M THERE!!! goodpost
