Ground Sharing
K.4. No Club shall have or enter into a ground-sharing agreement in respect of its
Stadium unless the agreement contains a legally enforceable provision to the effect
that the playing of the Club’s League Matches at the Stadium shall always take
precedence over the activities of the other party to the agreement.30 May 2017 at 8:16 pm #159424On the Huddersfield subject a hearty well done to everyone over there.
At the begining of last season I would have put money on us finishing higher than them after they had struggled the previous season and we had come up as champions.
Huddersfield the top club in Durham, Cleveland, Yorkshire, Humberside, Lincolnshire, Notts and Derbyshire.30 May 2017 at 8:17 pm #159425The thing is of course they’ve been promoted to the Premier League with a -2 goal difference, and without winning any of their play-off games – in fact the only goal they scored was an own goal!
30 May 2017 at 8:23 pm #159426Also finishing fifth in the league. Blackpool finished in Seventh position and went up. Millwall finished Sixth and went up.
This is the play-offs right or wrong but here to stay.30 May 2017 at 8:50 pm #159427And rugby league gets ridiculed for its systems. (rightly in most cases)
Well done to them. Nice little ground.

Then again, they havent had to suffer the goons.
30 May 2017 at 9:49 pm #159429Fair play to Huddersfield, thought they were by far the better side yesterday. Thought it wouldn’t be their day after missing those 2 chances inside 10 minutes.
Always good to see yet another club reach the PL. Proof to the rest yet again that it is possible to climb the football pyramid and reach the top tier and a reminder to those in the PL that no club has a God given right to be in the PL (eg Villa) it has to be earned year on year.

This is the play-offs right or wrong but here to stay.Yes, so often the team finishing 3rd has just missed automatic promotion and is on a real downer going into the play offs. Brighton last season being a classic example.
The team finishing 6th is sometimes 12-15 points behind 3rd place but they start again from scratch. 6th place team is often on a high because they scraped into the play offs when they were maybe 10th 3 games earlier.
I think they should simplify the play offs to give much greater priority to the original table. My idea would be –
Keep the Wembley final, but 3rd place team should go straight into the final.
2 other games only.
6th to play away at 5th. One off game, extra time, penalties…loser out, winner through to play away to 4th. Same again, loser out winner then to Wembley to play 3rd.30 May 2017 at 10:39 pm #159431At the begining of last season I would have put money on us finishing higher than them after they had struggled the previous season and we had come up as championsI wouldn’t. I didn’t think Latics had strengthened enough or in all the right places.
Plus I was aware that they (Huddersfield) were spending a lot of money30 May 2017 at 11:32 pm #159432Premier League Rules, section K:

Crammy’s question was that he believed they couldn’t even ground share.
