The first time I have ever been ashamed of my fellow fans this, the way Gomez was booed every time he touched the ball today was an utter disgrace, he was not good today, and I maintain he is not good enough in general, but it is NOT his fault and he was NOT the worst player on show today.
One man and one man alone should be booed and its is not the players.

Well, here’s (almost) a first…
Agree with you 100%.
3 March 2012 at 11:14 pm #82225Trouble is everyone loves him and thinks he is doing a sterling job, fans at villa blackburn are letting there clubs know what they think about there manager but we are just letting it happen which we have been for a couple of seasons now. We should be ashamed of our selves for letting this manager away with the shite he his giving us.

3 March 2012 at 11:22 pm #82229I don’t rate Gomez he is IMO useless but to boo his every touch is as you say a disgrace. And the blame is not Gomez it’s the manager who keeps picking him when everyone can see he’s not good enough.

Nope, I was only commenting on Gomez.

most Wigan fans need somebody to hate….its a fact
4 March 2012 at 3:10 am #82270The thing is, every now and again; and I agree it is few and far between. You see a flash or spark of pure brilliance from Jordi. He is still very young and I feel he is treated appallingly by our fans. 12mins in when the daft bird four rows back shouted get him off. Just ridiculous. He has potential. If it doesn’t work out with Wigan this season fine. But If we go down Gomez could be a big player in championship for us.
Today I thought McCarthy was very very poor. This lad has not looked the same since all the nonsense of a Chelsea move back in the summer. Sammon also put in a performance that challenges my top spot of Leigh jenkinson against burnley springy park, for worst ever performance in a Wigan shirt.
For the record I’d like to add, I thought Whelan was bang out of order with his comments about Roberto. Keep that type of talk in- house Mr chairman!!!

4 March 2012 at 3:41 am #82284Leigh Jenkinson…..oh what a step over he hadGood God he was awful.
The thing that infuriates me with Gomez is that he’s sooooo lazy in defence. Granted he isn’t the only one, but at times he just stands there.
4 March 2012 at 3:50 am #82291I am also ashamed. I’d go as far as saying today was our worst performance in the Premier League era and it’s clear that the players simply don’t give a toss. Whats it to them if we go down anyway?
Our midfield was so static it was embarassing. Clearly nobody had a clue where they were supposed to be doing-no closing down, no moving into space. It’s ridiculous. What the hell do we do in training during the week?
4 March 2012 at 4:06 am #82299How can you train properly when a core of the 1st team are half way around the world?
But even that’s not an excuse. Simple fact is Bob got the tactics completely wrong and just like the Sunderland game in January he decided to drop Moses, and tinker with the line up and formation just as we’d started to hit a bit of “form”.
If Alcaraz, Caldwell and Figueroa are all able to start, then why not Moses esp. if he’s ok to come on at half time? Like that 45min extra rest made any difference. Play your strongest team and sub them when they get knackered.
Plus, why on earth didn’t we start with the same side that finished so well vs Villa?
