as a long time fan been going since the tender and innocentish age of ten and have just turned fiftyish was quite pleased when roberto was appointed manager last summer having met him at numerous functions i found him articulate and his love of football and our club in particular were obvious,but make no bones about it if we stay up or go down this season as been sheer crap, ! pass it sideways, pass it back dont lose possesion,players playing out of posistion ie top scorer and striker on the wing, defenders in midfield,striker who couldnt score for ince central (remember them ) I just cant see a massive rush irrespective of which league we are in next season for season tickets to put it plain and simple the entertainment on show as been boring, boring, boring, we are wigan little club proud of our heritage and never say die attitude what we lack in quality at times we put back in with sheer effort i am afraid with this team that roberto as assembled we neither have the quality or effort, as for scharner being booed off i found it sad very sad that one of our players was treated this way we as fans are usually a tolerant lot but the way the season as unfolded and robertos lets say odd decisions ie crap ones, have stretched the average fan to breaking point in a nutshell a piss poor season !!!
I find myself agreeing with what you say about Scharner, then I think he’s brought it all on himself from day 1, “I may play for Arsenal one day” in an after match interview very soon after we signed him, he’s never realised his mistake since, infact he’s disrespected this club at every given opportunity, I have always wanted him to stay in the past but I’ve had a change of heart, f*ck you Scharner, give Arsenal a ring, when they’ve finished laughing ring Fulham, when they finish thanking you for last week then start laughing about giving you a contract, ring Max Clifford, he’ll give you a realistic take on your over inflated ego.

Hard work, commitment, desire, strategy, all things missing.
Wigan Athletic have always been hard to play against, what we miss in quality we make up with hard work, but not under Martinez.
Stay up of go down will have no bearing on me getting a season ticket. His position at the end of July will decide it.
