What a top performance with lots of thrills and spills and the usual dodgy officials decisions !! On the whole we were brilliant but I did start to get nervy when we sat back for the final 15mins !! You can still be happy with the scoreline and continue to play the way you were without sitting deep ! We got there though and the long wait to have the proverbial monkey evicted from his home upon our back is over ! I think 2 wins should see us safe but we may have to wait until the final 2 games so that could make for some super excitement !! I would rather they came before that mind !!
12 April 2012 at 2:22 pm #84960any room in their for praise of the manager and his approach?
I totally agree with you though, i personally would prefer the wins sooner rather than later. As i swear i was close to throwing up in the final 20 mins.
12 April 2012 at 2:24 pm #84961It was an awesome performance and to be fair, we have played like that for a few weeks now. We are proving that we are actually a really good side and apart from the Swansea performance we really have looked good for a few months.
I have to disagree with you though. Don’t see why the next 2 wins can only come against the lower teams at the end of the season?? We have just beat the champions! We can beat anybody! We went to anfield and won, should have beat chelsea but for some ridiculous decisions and the way we are playing we should go to arsenal with no fear. I agree 6 points may be enough but don’t see why we shouldn’t aim higher. With the confidence in the team and they way we’re playing, take our chance in front of goal and all 5 games are winnable.
Believe!
12 April 2012 at 2:24 pm #84962I did get worried when we starting playing with no-one up front, and I actually thought Moses looked dead on his feet.
BUT – having got that out of the way, what a magnificent performance. Fergie even praising us, and to be fair to the Manc fans (who I don’t as a rule like) their message boards and comments elsewhere online are all about how good we were and poor they were (although many praise us by saying that we didn’t allow them to play) and that the referee decisions didn’t affect the result unduly. Makes a refreshing change :cheer:
A great boost to the morale just when we need it.
12 April 2012 at 2:46 pm #84965Absolutely brilliant performance. Maloney was something else, the Jimmy Mac’s were dominanant in the middle, gary “beckenbauer” caldwell was solid, figgy put valencia in his back pocket, franco ran his heart out and held the ball up well and Al habsi was given the day off. Moses seemed to have been picking up some bad habits gomez as he failed to track back or tackle effectively – he looked tired when asked to defend but then seemed full of energy when running with the ball, so was he being lazy (in comparison with his team mates)?
The last 20 minutes were the longest in my life and they did sit back but hardly surprising because they must have been knackered. the first half performance left me knackered and i was in the crowd. -
