There are times this season when I have thought Holloway was obsessed with self-promotion, turning up to press conferences with a series of rehearsed quotes, however he impressed me in defeat on Saturday. He had been happy to praise Martinez before the game, “he’s a catalyst for the style we’ve seen here,” he had said. It’s harder to be generous in defeat though but Holloway managed to be just that in saying, “I’ve got a lot to thank Roberto for”.

Ferguson and Wenger could learn a lot from that,although saying that Holloway could learn from those two, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have signed James Beattie.
