A programme about Wigan from 1979 but if you go straight to around the 26min mark you will see Ian McNeil predict the future ! I am very good friends with Ian’s grandson Ross and we went to Texas together and he told me something that disturbed me a little. His grandad Ian had not been given or even offered a ticket for the FA Cup final ! How many past managers of Wigan Athletic have there actually been ? I would have thought that our history making day out would have been shared with all the managers from days gone by ! Anyhow enjoy the programme, particularly Ian’s gem of a comment in response to the very spinster-like Wigan Rugby League woman’s comments ! Well done Ian ! :)
I was told by a friend he watched the FA Cup final with an ex manager in a pub in Morton. Not sure if it was Kenny Swain or not.
I think it’s a tragedy he has not been involved with our club in some form or other. When you consider the players he’s brought to this country, Gudjonnsen, Hasselbaink, Yeboah, Curcic etc.
