should we during the remainder of this season buy players who will be good enough for championship level ready for next season – which some might say is literally throwing in the towel. or, are people still of the opinion that we can get out of it.
21 January 2012 at 9:44 pm #78911We can still get out of this. If Bolton win today we are 4 points from safety which doesn’t sound a lot but is over 1/4 of the points we have! I don’t know how we will get out of it though.
21 January 2012 at 9:46 pm #78913Yes, it’s over i’d say. They players we have got are simply not good enough. That’s my opinion anyway.
21 January 2012 at 9:48 pm #78914It’s not really an issue. We don’t have the money available to buy big, so we’re likely to be buying Championship-type players anyway, whether we survive or go down.
21 January 2012 at 9:49 pm #78915The majority of our squad would struggle in The Championship !
21 January 2012 at 9:49 pm #78916We are dead, buried and have a pot of flowers on, time to start rebuilding now.

what he’s saying Nuneaton is, there’s f’ck all money available so we’ll be on freebies or those with a ‘Whoops’ sticker if any.21 January 2012 at 10:18 pm #78931Below is a list of the players I think would be good enough for the Championship next season as long as we have a proper manager and coaches.
If a miracle occurs and we stay up, I would start next season with just the top five of these.Al habsi
Figueora
McCarthy
Moses
McManaman
Rodalegga
Alcaraz
McArthur
Di Santo
StamThe following might as well go now along with the management team as they are not Championship standard never mind PL.
Gohouri
Caldwell
Gomez
Sammon
Boyce
Kirkland
Jones
Crusat
Maloney21 January 2012 at 10:23 pm #78935I will put money down that the miracle doesn’t occur and that half of those players in your top list will consider themselves ‘too good’ for the championship and be off in a shot, therefore leaving us even further in it.

MaloneyBoyce? Are you sure?
Gomez was one of the Championship players of the year when he last played there, so why won’t he be good if he went back there?
21 January 2012 at 10:26 pm #78937They may think they are good enough, but we’ve all seen enough to know they aren’t.

I’ll give you Boycie, it was just an age thing with him.
But Gomez, c’mon, he is shite.21 January 2012 at 10:34 pm #78943Below is a list of the players I think would be good enough for the Championship next season as long as we have a proper manager and coaches.

But he was outstanding last time he played in the Championship. The problem with him at this level is he needs a good team around him to do his hard work and actually make themselves available for a pass. We haven’t got that team and so he looks shite.
