Caldwell’s 1st signing will be jordi gomez. I for one will welcome him with open arms if its true.
6 February 2016 at 1:14 am #147036Why would he come back to a club where the supporters constantly booed him? Not so sure I would, and I think his best days are behind him anyway.

But he is a quality player & we could get a good season or 2 from him.

It’s working6 February 2016 at 11:48 pm #147060Caldwell’s 1st signing will be jordi gomez. I for one will welcome him with open arms if its true.Yeah he’d be shit hot as the tea lady, one of the slowest and laziest players we had in the premier, that’s why he got fouled so much.

Some players “draw” fouls. Not cheating – but by getting opponents to commit. And how many free kicks and penalties did he score from?
7 February 2016 at 12:05 am #147063In the 60 odd months he was with us he was absolute shite for about 42 of them….
Having said that he could do a job for us in the championship.

To be fair he scored a cracker for Rovers today. His best season for us was in the Championship IMO so maybe that is his level.

Who said anything about the premier league. He would be decent at championship level.
7 February 2016 at 4:39 pm #147077The reason why all our fans are buzzing at the moment, is down to the fact that we are winning games obviously, but also we have players who look like they are busting a gut for the team.
When those two goals went in yesterday, it looked like if the players could have joined us in the upper stand, they would have. Power punching the air, Pearcy storming forward and jumping on everyone’s back, even the new boy looking like he’s scored the winning goal in a world cup final.
The one thing I noticed early into this season, is that to win games you needed young legs in key areas [Perkins excluded] and 11 players giving their all for 90 mins. We are getting that now and I would hate for GC to change things.
They had a guy in midfield yesterday, don’t know his name, but he had longish black hair and socks rolled down to the top of his shin pads. He looked like he could be quite handy on the ball, but was picked off all afternoon by our runners and strolled around like it was a practice match.Whilst I know Gomez would put more effort in, he is not the type of player for this league. He would be regularly caught in possession and fans would get frustrated waiting for that killer pass to come along that we know he has in him.
PS What a difference a bit of good coaching makes, I refer to Yanick Wildschut. besides torturing their defence all day, what about the chasing back and his tackling in and around our first third. Amazing transformation and only one man to thank for that……….I give you Sir Gary Caldwell. :cheer:
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!7 February 2016 at 4:48 pm #147078Or maybe Graham Barrow. He has a hell of a lot to do with the team and coaching and knows the game especially at this level like the back of his hand.

Says who, Maloney didn’t shine in the championship like quite a few of the others who came down.
7 February 2016 at 6:27 pm #147080But Jordi had his best time with us in The Championship. Why go back though. If we do make it this time the young players we have now busting a gut and with the momentum from a promotion would do equally as well or better than Jordi.
