…..that never started, each and every time you went to use it to get to work, so didnt bother going in, and after the 10th day of this got a b0ll0cking off the boss, so on day 11 tried to use the same car again, and it still didnt start, and again the next day and the next….

What would you do? Keep trying to use the car each morning, getting closer to the sack? THen get eventually sacked and not need a car, but said car is still on the driveway of no use or benefit to anyone?

Or would you get a new car? Or a second hand one that is a little older but proven and reliable? Or even for a short time use the Bus??? A short spell on someone elses transport.

My analogy is this. Jason Scotland is a 1982 Austin Princess with 160,000 miles on the clock. No matter how much you think it will work, it just wont. If Bobby applies the above to his transfer window instead of just saying “Scotland is so good we dont even know which is his stronger foot” we may well not go down. If not, Championship it is.

I await the Superfans contribution / slating.

A little bit unfair. Its like saying Scotland is the only problem. Replace him and everything is fine

We looked better playing 4-4-2 so maybe Scotland just needs a little bit of help. As you may put it, a bit of oil in the engine!!!! get to work fine.

        All entitled to opinions though

When was the last time mighty aff contributed a post without using the word superfan? And what is the definition of a superfan?

a Superfan is someone who starts another hysterical thread on a subject, such as Jason Scotland for example, even though there are plenty already due to their innate desire to see their name in lights

You’ll be waiting a long while lad, I gave up trying to talk sense with you a good while back.

And before you bounce back, just try and find anywhere on this board* where I have said that Scotland is a good enough striker for this league? Until January we are stuck, so change the tune, why don’t you?

                * I know you know all of my posts by heart.

Personally, I can’t think of many strikers who we can bring in who’d have an immediate effect. I’m a bit worried we’ll sign another foreigner and he won’t net his first goal until April. Robbie Keane? I’d love us to get him, but I really can’t see us working out a financial package.

Any African player has to be a no-no, with the African nations cup being held. I actually think Everton have been very crafty, with the Landon Donovan loan deal. Are there anymore players out there who are needing to prove themselves for the World Cup? Such a signing might work well for us. We’d get a player coming in, who’s eager to impress, and we might not have much of a financial outlay to make, if it’s a temporary arrangement.
I believe that Chelsea are looking at playing Anelka as a loan frontman, with Drogba going to Africa, as they have the midfielders to back him up. Ancelotti say’s so in ‘Four Four Two’ magazine, anyway.

What about someone like Carlos Vela, who’ll be wanting to impress the Mexico boss? Or there are other players who have not been featuring for their side, who would be an absolute scoop in a loan deal.

Rafael Van Der Vaart- Frozen out at Real Madrid. Even has no squad number.
Klaas Jan Huntelaar- in a similar situation at AC Milan.

Or any other players, who are lacking action for their clubs, but need to impress their national team boss. They come to us until May, perform to their best, we move up into safety, and they then go to the World Cup. We’ve not had to fork out a load of cash on ‘panic’ buys, and can properly assess the situation in the summer. Ok, we might have to pay someone £60,000 a week, but at least we don’t go blowing 5 million or so on a dud, and then get relegated with said new player on a fat, 3 year contract. Everybody’s happy.

That’s how I’d be looking to do deals, anyway.

Me, apparently. Funnily enough, if you break it up into its component words it is right in both counts, yet when put together – given Mighty’s definition – it doesn’t apply at all.

A case of the whole being less than the sum of its parts, I guess :?
