….for that dire performance today, I’ve just looked at the table and seen the only thing that matters. :cheer:
Poor Lee Nicholls, had his chance and he blew it! Hope his confidence is not shattered like that O’Donnell geezer we had. :woohoo:
Great day despite the defeat and here’s to another cracking season next year in the championship. Have a good close season boys and girls. :)
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!8 May 2016 at 8:17 pm #148458Saved the worst performance till the final game but when 4000 Jonny come latelys have turned up will hardly help the season ticket sales!!!
Only joking they deserve all the plaudit s and quite simply this is one of the best seasons I can ever remember and I startedwatching the tics in 1979 .
From start to finish these lads have been a credit and there attitude and hard work deserves massive praise.
I have to say I had a fairly large lump in the throat As they walked around with the cup At the end because this promotion feels so special and I have never been that emotional until today!
Well done to the new team at the club , a new start , a new direction and a feeling that the real Latics is back !!!!8 May 2016 at 8:18 pm #148459You could see which team had something to play for and which team were already thinking about Las Vegas.
I think four days off training and having a jar or two showed, apart from the first twenty minutes or so we were as bad as I can remember.
But wtf, it didn’t matter anyway, we are the Champions and Wigan are back and pushing for a place in the PL again, its in our own hands, we are level top with just 46 games to go!!8 May 2016 at 8:19 pm #148460Get rid big time he flaps more than my wife had our celebrations at Blackpool thank God,as you say looked at the table and that’s what matters.Going to be very hard next season.
8 May 2016 at 9:03 pm #148461Prudent team strengthening needed
Goalkeeper, centre half , full back and striker and I think a solid mid table finish can be achieved.
Anything more is just dreaming !!8 May 2016 at 9:07 pm #148463I think they went on their hols once grigg had scored. I thought it was funny TBH.
9 May 2016 at 11:12 pm #148477After the lows of the last couple of years and the incredible achievement this season there’s no complaints from me about yesterday’s result – apart from (as horc witnessed) my 5 year old lad crying from the moment we conceded #2 right until the post match celebrations started. Another true Wigan fan is born.
Huge congrats to Gary, the players, Sharpy, everyone else at the club and our hardy band of fans (core and JCLs alike).
Wigan’s on fire, Championship is terrified ;)

What was he like at 1-4? Its a good job he didn’t come to many games last season.
So glad he cheered up when all the razzmatazz started, it was a fantastic atmosphere.
I hope you have warned him that it won’t happen too often.10 May 2016 at 12:45 am #148482After the lows of the last couple of years and the incredible achievement this season there’s no complaints from me about yesterday’s result – apart from (as horc witnessed) my 5 year old lad crying from the moment we conceded #2 right until the post match celebrations started. We have seen quite a bit of silverware landed over the years and most clubs outside the Prem would kill to have our trophy cabinet. You must admit horc marrer we have been spoiled rotten and lucky to be Wigan Athletic fans. The biggest little club in England.

We have done brilliant, there are loads of clubs that would swap their history for ours and loads of clubs that have achieved far far less than this wonderful club of ours.
Me and LHL are forever going through the League tables and plucking out teams and saying, wtf have they ever won?
Our record since joining the league is pretty amazing when you stop and think about it. And our non league history wasn’t too shabby either.11 May 2016 at 4:45 am #148495Late reply, been too busy celebrating!!! Been a brilliant season, Sunday was a game too far for the lads after the hard work done since the turn of the year, those hard fought 1-0 wins in March/ April did the business. However it was a brilliant day and atmosphere with a full compliment of Barnsley fans in red and the the three other sides in blue with plenty of songs and banter between the both with ‘stand up if you’re going up’ sung by both sets of fans when we were 4-1 down!!! Love the strapline ‘Biggest Little Club in England’ though we should work on that as our club Moto complete with song!!!!
