On the back of our chairman being quite obviously bladdered in the national media singing “I’m from Wigan me” comes this, apparently our Wembley song.

Wasnt Whelan born in Bradford?Just saying…
He was, but to Wigan parents and he moved back to Wigan as an infant.
Wasn’t his dad doing a gig there or something when his mum went into labour and that is why he was born in Bradford.

Mr Whealan is a Poolstock lad grew up near to the honeysuckle pub. He went to highfield boys school(highfield primary), so thas definitely from wigin mon.
Great song and should be played at the beginning of games rather than that monkey’s song -something we are long overdue at the club.
derby play a superb folk song before their home games and it really got the crowd fired up as the teams lined up for kick off – get it sorted before the home game with Leeds!
