place in grand final between top 2 in the attendance table (albeit a pointless one inc teams that get 1k,2k 6k on). Anything less than 19k is a joke. I heard they’ve already used the “flooding @ saddle” excuse already.

Why can’t they just admit that, like 95% of the uk population, no one is interested or cares

sirdave, remind me how many showed up for the only major football semi final to ever be played at the DW?
i shall check when i finish work.
I’ll give you a link to help you find the answer:

I’m waiting with baited breath to see how many home fans turn out for the Capital One Cup game next month. No doubt there’ll be 4000 away fans to boost the figure so you’ll be crowing what a fantastic crowd turned up. My bet is that less Wiganers will turn out for this than did for a meaningless runaround against Catalan.

8000 home fans for this one please Sir Dave!!!
she likes to copy my saying’s doesn’t she. we don’t have wiganers as fans, according to you racist, old fashioned, xenophobic lot.the stands are full of “foreigners” like our team zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

also, nice of you to admit that your play off games are pointless, just like the existence of your village hobby. semi-pro in 15 years dear madam.

19k 2moro, your the 2 biggest in your (pointless) league don’t forget. i expect more from you. if WAFC finished top of our league, our DW stadium wouldn’t be big enough.

tickus tockus

I’m still scratching one’s bonce at the fact worryers are talking about attendances!

13k multiple times, half empty against st helens in cup, no one there in the play off etc…………….it’s a bit like frank gallagher calling a member of the public a layabout loser, who needs to get a life!

make sure your the biggest supported team in town before opening one’s trap and spouting brainwashed, mythical, nonsensical views. it’s 2012, not 1982 “darn’t” labour club with “owd” ‘arry. deal with it, accept it and move on. you’ll feel a lot better about your self. good night sweetheart

Why do both sides argue about crowds when they’re both the same? It’d be like me arguing that my bottle of diet coke was better than yours because mine came from Asda and not Sainsburys.

I couldn’t care less if 4 people turned up, my point is that when we where @ springy park, the arrogant knuckle draggers would bring this topic up on a daily basis. Now they have been knocked off their perch, they want to change the subject. FUNNY THAT AIN’T IT!!!!!

anyway, hope they win later in front of 19k, the more silverware they win, the higher their rent goes up

can’t say fairer than that. Don’t know the kick off time as it’s not been in the national papers AT ALL. Martinez charged by the F.A has received radio, tv and paper coverage though. The media have their priorities correct.

good luck chubster’s, not that you’ll need it in a one sided semi final eliminator, 2nd chance final play off with an extra life club call prelim knockout grand final.

So why don’t you exhibit a bit of class and let it go, then.

Especially as The Egg says, the two club’s crowds are not that dissimilar anyway. Both pretty poor as a rule, to be honest.

TBH, yes they are, but we are not top of our top flight are we. and they don’t have the competition for fans like we have with traitoring “wiganers” watching the top 5. Yet they still get lower. just making a point, that’s all. pity they cant accept it or get it through to them.

LOTP will be on here circa 10pm, with the usual “final this, final that” spiel, which we have heard for decades. Not interested in a non competitive inter village game from yorkshire. bet they don’t talk about the poor turnout between the top 2 sides in souper league though!!!!!!!

You cant be posting fact’s like that. the worryers and local rags will spit there tetley’s all over their whippet. we have to obey the myth that they have pedaled all these years. anyone who doesn’t shall be hung, drawn & quartered on the town hall steps, with maurice lyndsey and purple aki watching.

On the way to the last home game of the 2010-11 season against West Ham there was a Latics fan on BBC Radio Manchester giving his views. He was very articulate and factual (some of you may know who that was). Anyway the presenter he was speaking with was Jack Dearden who, as you will no doubt be aware, covers Bolton and Wigan RLFC games for Radio Manchester. The inevitable question cropped up about Latics attendances and that it must be difficult for them with Wigan being a rugby town, etc., etc., etc.

Our man mentioned, quite correctly, that Latics’ average attendance for each season in the Premiership had been greater than that of the rugby. Deardon stopped him and asked if he was sure, in a manner that suggested he – our Latics man – was talking out of his arse. The fact was presented to Dearden again to which he responded along the lines of, “well I hear what you say but I’d be very surprised if that were the case”.
Now, we’re talking about a local radio presenter here who reports on Wigan rugby and yet, assuming he wasn’t extracting the urine, didn’t know this very basic fact.

Leaving aside the tedious issue of who is the better supported and by that I mean home fans through the turnstiles, which we all seem to agree is more or less the same, this little story sums up in a nutshell the misinformation that seems to be set in stone within the media regarding the support for both clubs.
