So how does this debt thing work then?
I always thought that richness was judged by how much money you had. If you have it you’re OK. If you don’t you are struggling. If you owe lots you’re poor.

According to this link Sarah Duchess of York owes £2 million. But she has a magnificent jetset lifestyle.The thing is, touch wood, I don’t really have any debts (just the normal mortgage, credit cards etc), so I have a couple of million pounds more than she does. How come I don’t have a jetset lifestyle???
I think you need to be part of the establishment to have those debts and get away with it !
The thing is, given the financial problems in the world, it proves I think we would all do it if we could get away with it !
The snorting slapper Kerry Katona is not a member of the establishment but she owes millions is a bankrupt and has moved to Surrey to live in a mansion. She doesn’t seem to work these days but still has an agent etc.
Look what the Queen Mother did. Ran up millions on an overdraft and everyone was too scared to say ‘hold on a minute love’.
