Maloney’s interview today was interesting. His view on our non existant recruitment was putting a brave face on the issue. F### knows what our contract/pay parameters are ? but when Carlisle, Burton,and Ross county are allegedly trumping us then things don’t bode well. Pre season friendly coming up and so far 3 in…..1 20 year old novice as our only recognised striker. Everyone I speak to who goes is not optimistic because of this recruitment apathy. New shirt released and very little noise…….feels like a lot if supporters resigned to another struggle.
I honestly thought we’d see at least a couple more come in after the national contract day 30th June passed by.
Only those in power at Latics will know what our pay structure (upper limit) is but it doesn’t look to be an healthy one judged on the amount of signings so far and who.
I suppose we’ll just have to be patient and wait n see but I’ve a feeling it will be made up of loans,kids and players with horrific injury list as long as my arm but cheap and McManaman will be in the middle acting as the Geography teacher duster in hand trying to keep them all in line.

I don’t think he’ll still be here come Jan 2025 the pressure Danson will weigh on Maloney’s shoulders will be too much to bare. Without some quality players brought in (who cost by the way) I think it will take it’s toll on the manager to the point he’ll not be able to cope especially if we languish near the bottom.
Let’s hope we start to see action and decent signings over the next few weeks as we desperately need bodies in asap

They say they will donate £1 for every ticket sold for the Blackburn game to the community trust, no they aren’t they have added a pound to the ticket price, tickets for friendlies have always been a tenner, fans getting screwed again because of the lack of interest in the fans fund.

Fuck the EFL
I certainly don’t envy Maloney’s job. For me it will be a case of “Here’s your budget now pull another rabbit out the hat with less than you had”.
And if he doesn’t?, it’s simple, get rid and some other manager will come through the glass doors fancying his chances thinking he’ll turn it all round with some tweaks and managerial magic dust that’s, until he finds out exactly why Maloney failed.
They say never blame your tools but to blame them you have to have them in the first place.
This season should be all about “signing players” players on contracts so we can build a team over the next year or two, I just hope and pray that’s the case and it’s not a load of loans and has beens on the cheapo because this wholesale chopping n changing we famously do will just simply carry on for the foreseeable future.
