Anybody see the live streaming of the game to know how bad his injury is because the guy who put the tackle in on him got sent off for a high, two footed challenge and then he went off injured so does anyone know how serious the injury is? Hopefully it’s not bad as he’s looking good.
25 September 2010 at 8:03 pm #47372Managed to watch some of it on a stream. The challenge didnt look that bad actually. I’d be a bit miffed if it was one of our players being sent off for that.
Di Santo will be reet. He just hobbled off. If there had been any longer left in the game he could have ran it off in 5mins.

26 September 2010 at 3:24 am #47398Thought the lad was very unlucky to be sent off for that, tbh

26 September 2010 at 10:51 am #47404I do, yeah. I’ve seen an awful lot more malicious. Mind you, I was a bit leathered when I watched it
26 September 2010 at 2:45 pm #47410Watched it live on Foxtel. Nowt in the tackle. The lad was very unlucky to get sent off.

The lad was very unlucky to get sent off.Thought the lad was very unlucky to be sent off for that, tbh.i saw it live stream – and heard mccleish on sky so thought the same as you, but after seeing it on football first and on MOD this morning the tackle is an absolute disgrace-he left the ground and lunged in over the top of the ball with studs up-the fact he won the ball was the follow through were it went under his arse – referee was spot on.
26 September 2010 at 3:12 pm #47412Watched it live in Muscat on AD sports – he got the ball, was not a bad challenge.
26 September 2010 at 4:05 pm #47415I watched it on live stream called getting off my behind and being 20 yards or so away from the incident and initially my reaction was that it was harsh.
However Clattenberg was in a perfect position to make an instant decision which, after watching MOD, I would agree 100% with him.
He took the ball but went straight over it with his studs showing and was lucky that the injury wasn’t serious.
I don’t imagine that the Eduardo incident a couple of years ago was intentional but look what happened there.
Just who were Arsenal playing that afternoon?
28 September 2010 at 12:57 am #4752320 yards my asre, I was ont same row as you.
It was at LEAST 21
28 September 2010 at 10:47 am #47530Just seen it again and I am revising my opinion. Although I have seen much worse tackles, and I don’t think there was a huge amount of intent, by the end of the tackle he was well over the ball and could have done some serious damage.
You see how hard it is for referees though – it took me 3 days to decide that ;)
28 September 2010 at 11:43 am #47534My gut reaction at the time was he should have been sent off, the leading boot was high and he stopped himself on Di Santo’s leg. A rash challenge, we will see how long he is out for.
28 September 2010 at 12:01 pm #47535On initial viewing (admittedly only on Football First) I thought the red card decision was very harsh
As soon as I saw the replay however, there’s no doubt in my mind that Clattenburg got the decision spot on – both feet off the floor, studs showing & connected half way down Di Santo’s shin
It wasn’t a malicious challenge where he’s gone in to hurt him & the ball was definitely there to be won but the challenge wound up being dangerous & reckless
