      now even some managers, well Martinez, are saying the same.

      The transfer window should shut before the seaosn starts, not three weeks into it, anybody disagree and if so why?

        It gives the manager a chance to see his team in real competitive action, to see how his signings have fitted into the team, where needs strengthening and what type of players he needs to bring in.

        You may argue that this is what friendlies are for, but friendlies are usually just for gaining fitness and trying new things out.

        Cliche No. 67 A manager learns alot more about his team in a game than any other situation.
