May I ask, what is the sudden popularity of Dusseldorf?
I’m just curious. Is there an exodus of skilled workers to that part of Germany, as there was back in the 80’s….like in Auf Wiedersehn, Pet?
Regarding the game being live on ITV again, I did have every intention of trying to get to the game, be it Oldham or Everton. However, having mentioned it to my dad about going, and him to come back and say “Why spend the money when we can just watch it on telly?” it has made me think “yeah, I agree, I will do that instead”.
Don’t get me wrong, at first I was like “Well I am going”. But the more I thought about it, I thought that, realistically, it’s going to be Everton we face, no disrespect to Oldham, but it probably will be. Will they charge £10 a ticket? I very much doubt it. So it’ll probably be nearer £30. Then theres the train, then money for a few pints (you have to at Everton, really)…and all considered I though, “Well yeah, I can see the logic of watching it at home in the comfort of my own home, where I have a fridge full of ale (leftover from Christmas) and a pantry (ooh, get me!) full of food”.
Fair play to anybody who does goe, and I applaud you sincerely. But not all of us have the disposable income, I’m afraid. So thank you to ITV.
Dusseldorf is known as ‘The longest bar in the world’ 360 bars/pubs in a square mile in the old town, with breweries galore serving their own ‘Alt’ beer.
Now may I ask you, how regularly do you take the mind benders?
Latics v Oldham/Everton Saturday dinner
Bayern v Fortuna 3pm
City v Barnsley Teatime
Sunday
2 of the lads are Blackburn so we’ll have to watch them at Millwall
Not sure if we’ll get the United v Chelsea game as the flights home are at 7pm Sunday night
Turned out to be a belter of a footy weekend if we can get all games. Weather for next 10 days gets to about -5 every night so the groom can expect frozen pyabs
