If Man United are on their ‘A-game’ then most teams can go home.
The likes of Hull and Palace are set for a torrid season – emulating our very own 70-odd mins goal difference.
filmoss is right – we have a catch-22 thing going on for most people and the getting there thing is much better than the being there and feeling pissed off most game-day tea times.
I, for one, am going to really enjoy this season. We’ll clobber a few teams and get a run from a couple of the stronger ones. AND we’ve got the noblot w@ngsters twice – bring it on !
Coyle in a suit yesterday – priceless. He looked cooler the the fella on the southern comfort beach advert. “look at him, on his own, trying to be everybody else. there aint anybody else like this, i just wanna be me.” Keep it up Owen lad !
12 August 2013 at 5:08 pm #119212It’s definitely a catch 22.
I’d rather win at Bournemouth away and Doncaster at home, than lose to United and Liverpool.
12 August 2013 at 11:50 pm #119221the one thing iam looking forward to this season is not being slated by pundits and the media. yesterday on itv was a disgrace no one had a good word to say about us, ok we didn’t play perticularly well but talk about kissing utd’s arse! ditto in the papers today. they will have to find someone else as whipping boys.glad were out of it to be honest.
12 August 2013 at 11:55 pm #119223I actually thought Man Utd were playing themselves the amount of times we got a mention. Actually Man Utd fans spend a lot of time playing with themselves.
Even North West Tonight were licking their lips at United’s “first silverware of the season”.
I agree it is a huge feeling of relief to be away from that nonsense even if it’s only for a year.

13 August 2013 at 1:09 am #119228I don’t remember Townsend winning the fa cup he’s just a gobshite

13 August 2013 at 12:06 pm #119238I don’t remember Townsend winning the fa cup he’s just a gobshiteI believe he captained Villa when they won the League Cup. I bet he’s really arsed that you think he’s a gobshite.
13 August 2013 at 1:26 pm #119240it’s all opinion griff – live and let live. otherwise this site becomes pointless (if indeed it already isn’t to most).
personally i’m not phased by pundits’ attitude, comments, thoughts about us. my point really was about looking forward to regularly winning again. it’s been a long few years.
13 August 2013 at 2:47 pm #119243If we go straight back up we will still be one of the favourites to go straight back down again but we may have learned valuable things from our 8 season stint ! Only time will tell on that front but for now the feelgood factor is riding high within the club ! If we go up one season and straight back down the following season then at least we will be as happy as Larry ( Foley ) every other season which has got to be better than struggling every season in the top flight and getting by on the odd shock win over one of the ‘joy boy’ outfits !

I agree. In fact I’d go one step further – I don’t mind that much watching us lose. :S It’s obviously much better seeing us win, but as long as I am watching, I really don’t mind.
My point about Saint’s post is that whenever anyoe dares/criticise Wigan they automatically become a gobshite or a knobhead by many people on here. Probably the very same people that scream blue murder that everyone should be allowed their opinion.
I’m with you, ignore the pundits. You don’t see fans of big clunbs getting all antzy when a pundit slags them off. It just smacks of being very small town when we do it.

You have a season of doing well, and winning. And a season of being among the so-called elite, and seeing the top clubs and players. The Premier League is fine when there’s not too much of it.
You then go back down, start winning, and the cycle repeats.
It’s not a bad thing, in my opinion.
13 August 2013 at 5:38 pm #119254This year will be a welcome break.
But hand on heart I think we deserve to be in the premier league with the way the club goes about its business and some of the quality of football we have produced over the past 8 years.
So while a welcome break it is I do want to be back to where we belong riding that fat daddy cash cow.

Not the point I was making but you have obviously completely missed that as you were so eager to nitpick at anything you can find as per usual.
