…on the bench for Palace tonight, didn’t get a kick, looked well pished orf sat there watching Mr Gomez bang one in for Sunderland. :woohoo:
They must be 3rd favs now to get relegated, he might be back at the DW next season in his Eagles kit. If he does lets hope its just for a cup match:ohmy:
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!4 November 2014 at 3:41 am #134882and no doubt get a rousing reception like Hugo did on Saturday.
I’m all for showing a former player respect but it was a bit over the top. At least he didn’t score the winner but was instrumental in preventing us from getting all three points.
4 November 2014 at 3:46 am #134883I see Jordi played the full 90 minutes and scored a well taken goal.
Still miles better than anything we had on show against Fulham.
4 November 2014 at 3:47 am #134884Seems Sunderland fans are split on the Jordi issue as well, not just Wigan fans.

The only ones “instrumental in preventing us from getting all three points” on Saturday were our defenders. All 3 Fulham’s goals were mistakes by us.

Espinoza had a cracker of a game on Saturday and also “scored a well taken goal”, I watched the Palace v Sunderland game tonight and Gomez was exactly the same as when he played for us good in parts, went down easy when challenged, gave the ball away a few times, scored a good goal, and looked terribly slow, I would not trade his performance tonight for Rogers on Saturday.

Of course it was down to our defensive mistakes but that wasn’t my point. It happened to be Rodallega bearing down on goal and would most likely have scored if he hadn’t been brought down. That’s the guy who used to play for us but now plays for a competitor. Would an appreciative round of applause from our fans been appropriate if he had?

I still prefer Gomez to him for his composure on the ball and his eye for a pass to unlock a defence.

Ditto. As well as Roger played on Saturday, his game still relies on huff and puff and he gives the ball away as often as he does something useful with it.

The pass that Espinoza made for Maloney’s goal on Saturday was as good as any ‘defence unlocking’ pass we have seen at the DW for a few years.

5 November 2014 at 12:29 am #134901Andy Delort might have scored last night because they were two absolutely appalling teams and both will get relegated as I fully expect QPR and Leicester to get their acts together.
Gomez played okay but hardly a great win as I fancy many teams will stuff Palace this season and Sunderland are equally as bad.
We will probably be playing both of these teams next season -
