Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has insisted that it is in Jason Koumas’ best interests to find himself another club.
Whelan has recognised the fact that Koumas does not figure in Roberto Martinez’s plans anymore, and considering he is one of the clubs big earners, he sees Koumas as a player that can be offloaded as he seeks to up the ante in his cost cutting measures.
It has been reported that Martinez was keen on sending Koumas out on loan several times last season, but the players wages put paid to any club contemplating signing Jason temporarily.
