Effort wise, you could not fault the guy. (Scotland) Did he try TOO HARD? Possibly. I think he just lacked the ‘speed of feet’ for the Premiership, and would often be played in, only to have the ball taken off his feet, or get it tangled in his feet.
But you can see and understand why Roberto took a punt on him at this level. His scoring record in the Championship was great. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out for him in the top flight at Latics. However he might go to Ipswich and bang in a load of goals for them. I hope he does.All the best, Jason. Hope the move turns out to be a good one. Just hope you don’t pass us on the way up.

i agree with you on that one vat69. i also remember the likes of pat gavin, lee rogerson,paladino, andy pilling (debatable??), etc etc.. should so a list of the worst players ever to play for wigan.
Scotland was decent, he just didn’t have the balls to step up to the premier league and score goals. I think he’ll be a good signing for Ipswich.
To be 31 and unproven at top flight footy is a bit of a gamble dont ya think ! Well he was actually 30 when we got him which is still a little long in the tooth for someone who hasn’t played in the Prem. 1 league goal in 29 appearances !! Hold your hand up Bob bad mistake !!
