JCLs can no longer be put down by old gits like me saying “you should have seen the Latics against Runcorn in 1872 !!”.
The Arsenal game has surely re-written our history. I can honestly say that I have never been as deliriously happy at a Wigan Athletic match before and even the most junior of our JCLs can now say “I was there”. An historic victory in every sense of the word.
PS Couldn’t see Fil or Bob at the game – hope they didn’t spit their dummies after the Portsmouth game (where they went early!!) and missed it. ;)
18 April 2010 at 9:02 pm #29919Not sure about it re-writing out history, it wasn’t a cup final or relegation decider. But it was a bl00dy good performance and a great result for the lads!

18 April 2010 at 9:05 pm #29921Believe me – That was a relegation decider Duke.
18 April 2010 at 9:08 pm #29922I can see where you’re coming from, but i meant our whole season didn’t depend on that one result. Although it did help alot. I hope now the pressure’s off the players a little, maybe they’ll play better in the remaining games as a result. On the flip side they may do what they did last season and start their summer holidays early. Hopefully the later is incorrect.

It was my sons Christening on Sunday and I dont know about you but I tend to put my family before football especially my offspring ! As for Portsmouth game we had to leave early as my missus was working and I had to be home for my son which also comes under the family before football code that I adhere to strictly !
21 April 2010 at 1:17 pm #30255Oh yeah and as for that game going down in history ?? Surely beating Chelsea was more historical. First time we had beaten one of the so called big 4 and they are top of the league with trophies in their cabinet, whereas Arsenal aint won anything in fcukin ages and are well known for bottling the league when the chips are down ! :?
