Right. Lets name and shame the JCL’s on here who are bringing the club down with their know-nothing ignorant attitude. They refuse to get behind the club and Martinez and the only reason is they are ex Man U fans who actually get upset when you criticise Bruce.
I’ll start with a few who should quite frankly, f**k off and leave us to support our beloved Wigan Athletic in peace….
Mighty Aff, Ticslad, parboldlatic…
Just for starters….weed these idiots out ASAP
28 February 2010 at 1:17 pm #24673‘Get behind Martinez’ He hasn’t got a clue and if you think he has then you haven’t either.
I love my club and will always get behind them but its obvious to the blind that the players have no leadership from him…

Yeah – ban us, and anyone who dares show any dissent to the chosen one. After all, we are the bestest team in the league, with the bestest players, and the refs have got it in for us and bobby, and we have been unlucky 23 times, and Scotland just needs one goal and then he will be more prolific than Raul ever was at Real Madrid, and Gomez is miles better than Beckham, Lampard and Gerrard ever where, and bobby is ace…..etc.
What a moronic comment, its a football messageboard, where people air their views. If you dont like what i post dont read it. Simple.
It is not called a “We love bobby, and everything is great, and we are ace, and will win the champions league and club world cup in front on 670,000 capacity crowds, with bobby in charge, in his nice scarf that makes him look cute and i love him more than my wife (hang on i said that out loud) board”.
Or is it?? I wonder with some of you people.
Maybe Jay could change the forum rules to “only sucking up posts allowed”???

forgive me if i am wrong here but isnt/wasnt the whole purpose of fanzine magazines, and nowadays the online versions, all about having a medium to air views about one’s own club that differed from the official club sources ?
They are/were set up by fans who disliked certain aspects of the way their clubs were run and a place where like minded fans could have a rant, laugh, moan or even praise their own club, and have a dig at other clubs and their fans as an added bonus.
In the days of hard copy only fanzines it was the opinions of just a few, ie those who got off their backsides and contributed to the magazine and worked hard to publish and sell it,while at the same time trying to both inform and entertain their target audience. The masses chose if they bought it or not and either agree or not with its content.Nowadays the media revolution that the home computer has brought allows the masses that once only read the fanzine, the opportunity to become a feature writer in the publication, they can express their views to everybody and expose themselves to the mercy of the majority,to be shot down without trace if needs be,which in my opinion should be the case with the original post on this thread.
EVERYBODY who bothers to post on here is welcome and whatever their views should be heard,we can then choose to ignore or comment on what they have said, either in agreement or not, it is not some orwellian enclave where “some are more equal than others” it is a broad church of differing views united under the banner of wigan athletic fans.
1 March 2010 at 2:29 pm #24853This forum is just the tip of the iceberg when you put it into perspective of members against lets say season ticket holders. I would hazard a guess as there is more than likely an even split down the middle when it comes to opinion re Martinez with all WAFC fans. Now that in its self is not really acceptable as he should have the backing of most should he not ?
1 March 2010 at 2:38 pm #24855Most people on here have some concerns about Martinez, that being the case what options are there ?
a) Get behind him until the end of the season.
or
b) Sack him and hope that someone can change things around in the short time we have left.I would personally go for a in the hope that he will find the right formula with the players he’s got, I respect the fact that he had a brand of football that he wanted to play but it wasn’t going to happen overnight, he will realise that points is all that matters now, hopefully.

Now, that might sound like an extraordinary case of kettle and pot coming from me, but I tend to engage in childish (sometimes) put downs to posters based on the way they present their argument, not its content. It would be great if we could have reasoned debates all along the way but it’s unlikely to happen, sadly.
What I would say is that, generally speaking – and I appreciate it is a generalistion and just my opinion – the anti-Martinez faction are the most agressive and abusive of the lot. This may because they are least happy and therefore less restrained in what they post and how they post it.
Or, they may just be really, really thick

1 March 2010 at 2:57 pm #24860He’s not my type.
Can’t be doing with scarves and the whole black keks/brown shoes combo.

Maybe this is the reason anybody connected with Roberto hasn’t scored for ages !

Griff i think if you take a look back through all the posts on the whole ‘pro or anti martinez’ debate you will find the “anti-Martinez faction” aim their abuse at the man himself, and it was his supporters on the message boards who started the “agressive abuse” to those who dared to say anything against him,and it is the ‘anti’s’ that have endured the volley’s of abuse and aggresion.
In recent weeks it has got worse, perhaps this is some form of self-deprivation as the anti’s or “dark side” grows ever larger ,and their critisisms and concerns bear more fruit game by game.1 March 2010 at 3:35 pm #24866Griff i think if you take a look back through all the posts on the whole ‘pro or anti martinez’ debate you will find the “anti-Martinez faction” aim their abuse at the man himself, and it was his supporters on the message boards who started the “agressive abuse” to those who dared to say anything against him,and it is the ‘anti’s’ that have endured the volley’s of abuse and aggresion.

And you may well be right, but I don’t have the time or the inclination to check back through the board to see.
Personally, it’s the mindless way that people make their criticisms that get me. Even those of us in happy-clappy land see that Martinez, Gomez and Scotland (to pick on just three) have flaws but to call someone a “caribbean pygmy”, for example, adds nothing to reasoned debate.
