I have never been the biggest fan of this guy.
Didnt rate him too much last season but appreciated the fact that he could play the Left Wing Back role quite well. (Somewhat better than Figs who is wasted there I believe).
This season however I believe the guy has took a massive step backwards, looks very sluggish and even slower than last season (If thats possible). NEVER beats his man and look incapable of doing so, and he also doesnt seem to be putting anywhere near the same amount of crosses in as he did last season either. Looks like hes gained weight too, and he wasn’t the slimmest to start!!
I think he COULD be a decent player for us again, but for now I think we need to look elsewhere (In January) as we dont really have anyone else to play that position, put him out of the squad for a while and get him to get in shape, as he probably feels (Knows) at the moment that he has no competition at all for his position and the case may be that he is getting too comfortable.
I think that we definitely should look for someone else that can play that position, even if its just ahalf-decent player for pennies, at least it may put some pressure on Jean and get him to buck his ideas up.
      Rant Over.

Has anybody here seen my friend Abraham?

Tip: Always tie a palomar knot when using braid. ;)

Tip: Mix gravel with your groundbait in flowing rivers. ;)

Serious question – don’t all rivers flow – otherwise they’d be a stagnant pond?

Back to the original subject, yes he has been shit this season as I have mentioned before ! How he didn’t get subbed against West Brom is beyond me ! He needs to lay off the pies !

He is completely immobile as soon as he gets the ball, if he attempts to get past his man he never fails to lose possesion! Needs a kick up the arse, and as stated earlier we NEED someone to challenge that spot and it looks like he isn’t going to be putting Figs back there. Personally I think Figs could play the role well given a few games there, but we need him as one of the Centre 3 at the moment (Until Alcaraz is back and ready at least).

A Baines-style player would be ideal there!

Stam could play on the left.

To be honest I completely forgot that he could, although when we signed him I do remember that whilst I was watching a few clips of him he seemed to play the left quite regularly didn’t he?

Either way it doesn’t seem as though Martinez has much faith in him as with some of the poor performances from Boyce and Beausejour you would have thought he may have got a game.

Personally I would like to see Stam given a run over either of the aforementioned 2, what’s the worst that can happen?

I’d sooner see Gomez on the left, rather than Beusejour, or Stam.

Beusejour is very average at best and looks shocking of late. Add this to the fact that Di Santo is coming across all ‘Billy big bolls’ now he’s been picked for Argentina, stalling on a new contract, it’s not doing us any good.

Di Santo doesn’t look worthy of an improved contract, by any means, and if he wants away, let him bloody go!

ABL.. I would like to see Gomez tried there now you mention it, but personally cant see it working as he cant (Wont attempt) to head the ball and his tackling isn’t great, could imagine him not tracking back too. (This being said I do like Gomez as a player, one of a select few people that do)

And Filmoss, it was my 23rd Birthday earlier in the month, must have matured :silly:
