Rumours abound that he is being sold in January to one of the big boys.
If he isnt even on the bench tomorrow, I’d fear the worst. After Cook saying he is fit, the other day. A game against a Derby side that arent exactly flying would seemingly be a decent opportunity to play him, rather than away games at Forest, Birmingham, or Lester in the cup.
26 December 2019 at 12:13 am #183222Hope top team sign him…..loan him back with a must play clause……Then we might actually see him play. Is it Cook not playing him or is following orders ???……

26 December 2019 at 4:06 am #183228What a load of bollox!!Why the fuck is it? Why do you have to dive straight in like that?
Listen, my cousin is a former team mate of Joffy’s, and is also a current training ‘stable partner’ of United’s Mason Greenwood, so I know quite a bit about young Joe. I know for a fact that Everton have already made several attempts to sign him. They offered £25,000 plus add ons when he was about 15, but he said he wanted to stay and develop at Wigan.
I expect a sale of an ‘undisclosed figure’ and it to be span as in the ‘best interests long term of the club’, and a ‘great opportunity for Joe’.
26 December 2019 at 11:30 am #183232The key word in it all is “rumours”
If you know him that well you would have more evidence than that of said sale.
26 December 2019 at 12:27 pm #183234Summer I could see it happening but not in Jan especially if we drop to that pile of sh!t called League One.
Nevermind Geldhart what a out Moore going in Jan. Although he might be a decent player I’ve seen enough of him when he’s played then I’ve seen the teamwhile while hes been out to realise he’s not suited to the rest of the team.
I’d suggest an Omar Bogle type sale were we realise he’s not suited to our team and get rid early doors while he’s in the Welsh squad and scoring.
31 December 2019 at 3:05 pm #183549I see a Derby County had no hesitation giving a young 18 year old Jason Knight a start against Charlton and he repaid them with 2 goals against Charlton and with 10 men.
I rest my case Mr Cook
It’s time to unpack the goods, cut the lead and unleash the lad and let’s have a last throw of the dice. I’m in no doubt he’ll be chompin at the bit.

31 December 2019 at 8:16 pm #183563“Joffy” reminds me of Callum McManaman. Spends more time running up his own arse than he does at the defence.
Hopefully he doesn’t get Callums arrogance
31 December 2019 at 10:36 pm #183566Well you’ve soon formed that opinion 442 ?
Based on probably the equivalent playing time of maybe two full matches ?…..yet in that time he’s scored, put his senior strike partner through with a beautiful pass to give him a (wasted) one on one with the keeper, won a (wasted) penalty and caused Forests defence to go into a flat panic ….how many of our other players have managed the same in equivalent playing time ?
I’m not saying he’s necessarily going to be the next big thing or that he’s eventually destined for a top club (though he may be) ….but he’s shown enough as a 17 year old to warrant more playing time than he’s been getting …..why wouldn’t he have the odd pointless or ill judged run up a blind alley for a lad of his experience ?
Again I’m not necessarily arguing for a start but more than the last 10/15 minutes

And how do you learn and improve ? He needs more minutes on the pitch than he us currently getting.
As for the remark about MacManaman, apparently the lads very honest and humble with good family around him keeping his head in a good place and his feet firmly planted, I don’t think you can draw any comparison, non.Right now with injuries forcing a change of style he should be playing more.
I’d sooner see him “running up his own arse” and getting us a pen than watching the fcuk off long ball to Moore while he then nods it down to Casper1 January 2020 at 1:50 pm #183568All these born in 2002 – same as JoffyAnd when you look through that list very few are from the UK. We wrap are young players in cotton wool so much that the best talent have to move to the likes of Germany to be given a chance.
I’m not saying play him from the start far from it but in our current predicament he should have been on before Robert’s against Forest and given at least 30mins.
Ffs, it takes 5-10minutes to get into the pace of the game.1 January 2020 at 2:24 pm #183570Not good enough to play in easily the worst side in the division but good enough to sign for the biggest clubs in the land. Sums Cook up perfectly.I said at the beginning of the season that relegation was nailed on and was hounded. Well this is the kind of things that made me think that way.Goal shy strikers and a weak defence will only send a club in one direction but……….if we go down this time i really fear for the clubs future. These are really dire times.

The longer the silence the more the worry.
1 January 2020 at 5:30 pm #183577McManaman, like most others, got above himself after our first relegation and thought he was better than us. 300 clubs and about 4 appearances later indicate he isn’t as good as he thinks (or thought)
