Theres shite refs and then theres John Moss
What was all that about with keeping Di santo off the pitch
22 December 2012 at 11:10 pm #98448Franco still had an earring in so he made him leave the field to take it out. The rules apparently state that you can only let someone back on the field after an infringement of the rules, when the ball goes out of play. :woohoo:
Perhaps George could clear that one up for us.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!22 December 2012 at 11:24 pm #98453Law 4 which deals with players’ equipment:
“A player must not ..wear any equipment that is dangerous to himself or another player (including any kind of jewellery)……..
In the event of an infringement of this Law….the player is only permitted to re-enter the field of play when the ball is out of play”.
So, although I was hurling abuse at him about this, and he got lots of other things wrong, he was actually correct in this instance.

Unless the poster that said he wasn’t wearing an earring was correct.
If Di Santo was wearing an earring, I would fine him a week’s wages.

I recorded the match and niall quinn said he took it out while he was walking off and was complaining he never had one in, in the first place, I like everyone else on the ground was screaming abuse at the ref but he was right and di santo was trying to take the piss, which nearly cost us a second goal and should cost him 2 weeks wages.

If he was wearing an ear ring how did he get on the pitch in the first place surely these things are checked prior to the match starting
22 December 2012 at 11:46 pm #98460If you look on bbc live coverage it says ref got it wrong and he didnt have one in. Did it take him an hour to realise? Mind you. We had the ball four times while he was waiting and chose to play on!

you and me both
talking point on MOTD tonight or just the usual ‘and last but no means least Wigan (2 mins duration)’; actually, MOTD will probably have it as ‘highlight’ of the match ?
I recall how the warming up and substitution (entering the field of play) of C Adam (new signing)was a MOTD highlight at the Stoke game.

23 December 2012 at 12:02 am #98464Overall standard of these new refs is terrible. Theres that Jones, that donkey we had today and that slaphead ( not red Webb ) who are all competing for shyster of the year.
23 December 2012 at 12:05 am #98465He missed 2 possible penalties which jamie redknapp said they were. First when kones shirt was pulled & the other – the handball towards the end.
23 December 2012 at 12:10 am #98466Cant get my head round why he turned that first handball down..the young lad moved both hands up and away from his body and was struck by the ball..only explanation can be that the poor dear bottled it.

Lets face it
Any one of our players would have been sent off for a tackle similar the what Wiltshire made on Maloney
We wouldn’t of got the penalty that they did
And they would of got one if not both of the handball incidents had they been done by one of our players

Didn’t John moss have a dancing school in Wigan? Round about the same era they had the ‘world disco dancing championship’ live from Doncaster? Or did I just have a bad dream.
23 December 2012 at 4:59 pm #98528John Moss used to be in Culture Club.
The dancing school was Tommy Moss!
23 December 2012 at 6:45 pm #98544John Moss is my nephew but he knows fuck all about football ! Could still be one and the same !
