I went yesterday and he scored an absolute cracker but he did not have the great game I been reading about on the other post. He did contribute which he has not done very often but we were playing a poor side who gave us room to play.

Quite often Gomez doesnt really contribute, especially when he plays out on the wing, we lose shape and he doesnt tackle… however…..

fair do to the lad who takes a lot of cr*p from the fans, this and the preston game have shown he can alter games.

Yes Wolves were a poor side, and down to ten men, but to say they gave us room to play is bollox.
They had everyone behind the ball at all times, hence their goal attempts (2)and they closed us down quickly.
The difference I noticed on Saturday was we actually made space for ourselves with good movement up front (di Santo), and clever midfield play by Gomez finding his passes and McCarthy running at the defence.
The first half was a non event, but I was very happy with the second half performance.

Sorry Horc but watching us is like pulling teeth!!! we are so slow and predictable in everything we do. We don’t look like scoring goals and it certainly isn’t exciting is it???

Yes, we aren’t very good, we all accept that.

But for the umpteenth time, just because you don’t like this style of play doesn’t mean others don’t and neither does it make them w@nkers for doing so.

Also, what makes you think that playing any other formation/style you want (ie 442 and more direct/long/high/lumped, for example) will make them any less predictable and any more successful?

Again a reality check for fans, do they honestly think teams like United and Chelski are like the dutch masters of the 70’s when they beat tripe like us at the lower end of the table, no they wait patiently and win and move on.

City got a 2-0 win against us, no real complaints from their fans for the poor game.

So you read the other post and thought “Oh look that’s a thread about Jordi Gomez but it’s not good enough for me so I’ll ignore it and start a completely new one of my own” :?
