Last night I was just waiting for the first wanker who has been slagging off Gomez for years to come on and say how good he is. It just happened to be you, I shouldn’t be surprised really. And you’d ever read what I’ve said over the years, you’d know that I couldn’t give a flyer what you or anyone else thinks about what I write. Never have done. I have a skin that’s is thicker than that idiot that posted the previous reply. I thought he’d actually gone away, but no such luck.
Goal scoring record similar to Di Santo in his time here despite being a midfielder who starts majority of games on bench. Always gets in right places and constantly looks for killer pass more than any other midfielder we have. He isn’t a typical English style midfielder and often looks slow and is weak tackling but most fans can’t understand that ain’t his game. Improved every season he has been here. Unfortunately our fans are unbelievably fickle. How many times this season do we hear it? Watson should never put the shirt on again. Beausejour a disgrace. Ramis out of his depth. Boyce finished. Gomez ain’t on his own!

Watson is out of contention for a couple of months so perhaps it will be Jones, Stam or Lopez if they get a run in the team. Maybe Beausejour, he’s been vying for that top spot for a while now.

So, by definition you were clearly arsed what I think as you by your own admission sat there waiting for me or a.n.other, who matched your what must have been your assessed pre-requisite criteria, in order to post yet another insightful, profound comment. Do you have a list of posters on here, their shoe size, eye colour and turn ons, ready to pounce? Is it in data base form, or in book form that no one finds remotely interesting other than the author?

Let’s be honest, the fact that he missed was probably as much a surprise as Gomez putting 3 past the keeper.

(b) Kone’s form to date.Were the season to conclude today and Player of Season Award made, Kone would definitely be in the mix. One slip up doesn’t make him a winker. Ditto Al-Habsi …bigger picture (form over time). Due respect.
As much as Gomez should be praised for getting himself into goal-scoring positions, the quality of the assists should be acknowledged (Beausejour, Di Santo, Kone …).
As regards Beausejour, quality of his deliveries (2 examples only) for both Kone’s miss yesterday and Gomez 2nd goal speak volumes for his value to /inclusion in the team …even if he ain’t the quickest.

The target of my rant was the fickle fans who slag somebody off and then pretend they knew all along they were a good ‘un. Just like some did with Martinez before the end of season heroics last year.
