That was the view I had of the team selection yesterday, Yanick as the front man (presumably the plan was to use his pace) with Powell behind him to supply the vital passes, unfortunately this just didn’t happen. Then when Garbutt came on (he did well tbf), he replaced Jacobs on wing, with MJ slotting in where Powell was. Just seemed yesterday the passing was very poor with no one having the ability to unlock their defence.
Davies, when he came on, didn’t do what he did at Cardiff, ie bring others into play, rather his other habit of giving away stupid fouls instead of making them at least work to play the ball out of defence. Formation wasn’t forward-thinking enough yesterday, although once we’d taken Bogdan off, we were hamstrung with only having 1 sub left with 30 mins to go. Joyce then had only one change left which he couldn’t risk until late in the game.
Not many would have had that team selection nailed on. Still don’t get playing Power, Bogdan and Powell when they haven’t performed yetthis season. Does he not watch videos/erm DVDs?

Does he not watch videos/erm DVDs?There may be a possibioity that as he’s new to the job, he’s playing all his players so he can see what he’s got in his squad.
In the past 2 games he has played Le Fondre, Grigg, Davies, Wildschut, and Powell up front.
Looks to me like he’s still trying to suss out what his best option is.
