Golden opportunity scorned after the promotion last May.
This disaster started the evening we played Chester in the pre-season friendly and snowballed into the situation we find ourselves in now.
Who’s fault?? A combination of all sorts. Dismantling a squad of champions with a winning mentality being one of them.
We will be down and be a Charlton/Sheffield Utd and maybe even lower.You go on about that Chester game as if it was the only game you had actually attended this season ;)
Sorry Fill, I should say from the begining of pre-season and that game was the first match of pre-season and we started unbalanced, shapeless, lacking in attacking ideas and dis-jointed and that continued to the present.
Not looking good is it i said give joyce a chance but now i fear for the clubs future

Absolutely no point in sacking the manager, he needs time and a bit of cash to rebuild from Caldwells disastrous pre season dealings.
I have to admit I feel really sorry for Joyce. He’s had more than his share of lousy luck in his short time here. I know they say you make your own luck but from Bogdan/Burn’s howler in the first few seconds of his first match through to Jussi this afternoon a lot has happened that he has absolutely no control over. Although the the first half performance at Rotherham was a horror show all 3 goals had huge slices of luck about them. Then there’s the joke pen against Ipswich an injury situation that left him without 10 potential first choice players. It’s safe to he’s been dealt a pretty shitty hand.
Told you all a few years ago the future of Wigan Athletic and now some of you can see what i saw. In a few years Wigan Athletic will be no more. Dave Whelan has asset stripped the club to death. He constantly sold the better players and replaced them with the cheap option just like he has with managers. He had a chance to try and get Latics straight back up but because Steve McLaren dared to ask for transfer funds he went for Owen Coyle instead. Ever since then good players have been miss-managed and sold on (Forshaw,Tavernier, Waghorn etc) The club is now a complete joke. In the 90’s there was such a buzz about being a Wigan fan, even in the Springfield Park days and pre-Whelan. Now there was a club before Whelan, he pumped money in but he made sure he was taking about 100 times the value back out again. No more financial security after this season. Sharp won’t spend and if they get relegated i think it will be the beginning of the end. If the Latics get relegated they will be dissolved in 5 years. The stadium costs will cripple them because as we all know the real owners of the stadium are the Whelan family and money comes before anything. Changing the ‘welco’ brand to ‘Wigan Athletic Holdings’ doesn’t make it the Latics’ stadium. He is a con man and has been taking you all for a ride for years, occasionally dipping his hand into your wallet for good measure.
